My dad is 51 and a higher ranked WPC member who has been getting season tickets since 1987 and loved Herb and thinks we have made a bad mistake.BTW he graduated in 1977 from State, so he saw good teams play here so don't give me that.

yeah my dad graduated in '76 and he gave up on us a few years back....he cant even get into it any more....he was a huge fan back in the day....if you watch the '74 final four you can see him in the stands in greensboro...i was just wondering what the long haul fans thought...

i've been a fan since i was 6 years old...i was satisfied with Herb's direction, he hadn't truly stagnated yet, the team was getting better...i'm NOT happy with this university being used by coaches for their own benefit and getting nothing but embarassment in return...i'm NOT happy with Fowler's performance as AD over the years...and i'm NOT happy with the fanbase, particularly the more vocal ones who have only been fans for 5 or 6 years but think they know everything there is to know about NC State athletics...[Edited on April 12, 2006 at 10:22 PM. Reason : technically, since i'm 25, that makes me only a 19 year fan, but whatever]

they can let fowler and amato go for all i care...clean the house...
4/12/2006 10:34:08 PM
i'm becoming dissatisfied with Amato...Sendek never promised us national title contention, Amato did, 7 win seasons aren't going to cut it much longer...

I fully support Lee Fowler.I would not have said that two weeks ago.
4/12/2006 10:57:56 PM
Me either. Fowler is doing a hell of a job. Good job, Lee.

same here about fowler, i was very happy to hear he had kept the lines of communication open with other targets while getting played by calipari

Im so tired of this whole thing now we lose a coach who i was ok with but i wanted to be competative again (be able to put banners in the rafters) but just b/c we swung for the fences and missed on the first 2 doesnt mean that we wont get someone decent also im ok with getting a "interim" coach for a year or 2 as long as we keep trying to get a long term great coach

My pops graduated in the early 80s and was here either the year of or year before the 83 NC. He doesn't even care about NC State basketball, and hasn't since Volvano left.

Why do people keep posting about their dads who went here long ago but don't care now. This thread is about FANS! As in fanatics. The very definition of a "Fan" is that you give a shit about it. Jesus.[Edited on April 13, 2006 at 8:38 AM. Reason : .]

i might be happy about our shot with a new coach if we had a new coach

I never really cared/knew about NC State until I was 17. Now I'm consumed by it. I'm moving soon though. I'll follow just as much, but from a distance. That doesn't make me any different then the ones who have followed it for 20 years IMO... but whatever.

I think old people define mediocraty differently. They still cling to the belief that NC State is an elite program, while the younger fans realize that a program trying to judge it's current position by a fluke 2 decades ago, or an actually dominant team 3 decades ago, is foolishness.I also like how the definition of mediocraty kept changing as herb's teams got better.
