September 11, 2001. Four planes were hijacked. Three of them reached their target. Little did the terrorists know that on the fourth there would be...

They should bring that show back. I remember an episode that really taught a valuable lesson when we all learned that the constitution allows us to bear arms, but not to arm bears (much to the grizzly's dismay).

its interesting to see people say its a "worthless" movie.

Unless I'm not aware, the director used all primary sources for recreating events on that day and, as best he could, on the plane.

If nothing else, this should be one of the better "historical" pieces that Hollywood has ever put out.

If you think that this movie will do nothing but inspire hate for terrorists.... well then I hope you're right.

hell, there is evidence that suggests the terrorists were still in control when they hit the ground

this is one of those subjects that would have been better left alone by hollywood

Yeah, like "pearl harbor" I can't wait to watch them drag out a 45 minute event into a crappy 2 and a half hour movie.

It'll just inspire an american flag circle jerk for the rednecks who decide to shell out 8 bucks to see it. It's not even 6-4 yet, they could at least release it then so we get our gags worth of patriotism all at once.

there is evidence that we never went to the moon too yaknow.

history is never perfect. Hollywood is less perfect. At least they demonstrated that they took the steps necessary to give as-accurate-as-possible portrayal.

I'm interested in this movie. I'm not going to assume it's exploitation until I learn more about it. The synopsis includes experiences of the victims' families. In order to do that, I'm sure they had to get permission. Otherwise it can't be considered true to the actual events.

The cockpit recordings should be released as soon as they fry that towelhead on trial. The families sued and got to listen to them already.

Seems a little presumptuous to make a movie without first hearing the tapes.

Will there be any mention of the role of the Edomite Zionists and the NWO in the attacks?

hahahahaha

towards the end

the LETS ROLL crew will pull off the "arab terrorist" masks and reveal a wily bunch of edomites

and then they'll go to the cave where Osama lives (they're in a plane after all) and pull his mask off, and he'll be a big zionist, and then he'll be like "AND I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU ALEX JONES!"

this movie is ridiculous, its time to leave it alone, all its going to do is stir up more hatred and dislike for the arab commmunity for many; and hollywood is going to make money off quite possibly our nations worst day. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A movie based on the official government story. Fantastic. Can't wait for this to come out and to see the public's reaction when it turns out that the plane was shot down by our military (which there is evidence for). Not saying either way, but Hollywood always takes the "heroic" story.

Almost reminds me of that football player that went to war and died. The Bush Administration put him on a pedastal and used him to praise the war cause and rally against terrorism. . . then it turned out he died in friendly fire. Go go exploitation.

or that captured woman who they had to run through bullets and explosions and shit to rescue

and it turned out that civilian doctors came and turned her in?

Yeah that was a good one too, instead of doing a patriot "Airplane" redux, they should do a comedy about all the shit like this the government has made up recently.

I dont believe this movie is as much Hollywood cashing in as the Oliver Stone World Trade Center film thats coming out later this year. The entire cast is pretty much no-names with the occasional "that guy" rather than putting Ben Affleck on the plane which would be a complete joke. Stones film, however, stars Nicholas Cage .

"Likewise, United 93 does not delve into the background of the terrorists. Other films have done that, but it isn't on Greengrass' agenda, nor is sympathizing with them or demonizing them. He presents them as individuals blinded by a cause, who don't see their fellow passengers as more than a dangerous inconvenience. "

4.5 stars from IGN

Quote :
"United 93 may be too much for some theatergoers to handle. During the screening, there were many exhalations during the course of the film, a few people turning away from the screen and the majority sobbing on various levels. This is an important film and people should go and see it. People all too often forget that film is an art form meant to entertain, inform and stir your emotions. Today's film world is more about entertainment than the value of art, but now and again it's refreshing to see a film that is about something real, that challenges the audience and leads to discussion afterwards. This is the best film yet this year and a true achievement for all involved."
