How bout neither?

Mark Turgeon would be better than both.

If I have to decide between these two Ill take Gillispie. He is already on the major conference level making the NCAA tourney. He took a team from 6-24 to 21-8 I believe at UTEP. Almost the same things have happened at A&M.

Marshall has been beating up on Radford, UNCA, High Point, Coastal Carolina, Charleston Southern, Birmingham-Southern, and Liberty. Not very impressive.

Marshall...he has proven he can win consistently and yes he has been beating up on weak teams but his teams always come close to pulling an upset in the tourney which shows he is getting his players to play up to the other teams talent level

agree, lost by 2 points to the Volunteers. Marshall definitely belongs in a stronger conference.

Marshall's a young guy that might appeal to players. Be a real players coach, and get the most out of them. He would probably be a good hire, and wouldn't cost 2 Million dollars a year.

Gillispie

[Edited on April 12, 2006 at 1:54 AM. Reason : But I will take either, as long as it isn't brady, laranga, or freaking Knight]

well it's good that you have brains enough not to base who you want to be our next coach off of your opinion of me.

i say we go ahead and give wright a raise cause i like the guy, and then lets just get realistic and get gillispie. i keep hearing gillispie will just be another coach that we get a raise for, but i really think he would come here.

I'd pick gillespie over marshall, since TAMU is in a real conference.

I'd be willing to bet you didn't watch any A&M games this year...

If you can put your ignorance aside for a few seconds, you'd see that Gillipsie varies his game plans:

If he feels he needs to push it, he does -> see wins over TXTech and Colorado

If he feels he needs to slow it down, he does -> see win over TX and OKST

^ Texas Tech (63-55) W
Colorado (61-58) W
Ok State (46-44) W
Texas (46-43) W
Colorado (86-53) W-Big XII Tourney

so once they cracked the 64 point barrier. impressive [/sarcasm]
