Half said Cal has it made in Memphis and Half said that Cal is a bad coach. Thoughts?

4/10/2006 5:19:27 PM
my thoughts are that we should all SELL on around the horn for the topic of "good shows to watch"
4/10/2006 5:19:48 PM

4/10/2006 5:20:11 PM
Who on ATH has credibility? Anyone??
4/10/2006 5:20:30 PM
Haha I just thought it was intersting becuase they made some legitimate points about the lack of "in game coaching" cal does. He seems to just let his athletes go, which seemed to work this year at least.
4/10/2006 5:20:47 PM
We're used to being outcoached, so that wont be an issue. The question is whether or not he can make it look good while being outcoached.
4/10/2006 5:21:07 PM
Why aren't you suspended Kruk, you big fucking idiot.
4/10/2006 5:21:19 PM
that is some bullshit
4/10/2006 5:21:24 PM
hahaha... man I thought at least one of them would be on our side.THE north carolina state university.
4/10/2006 5:22:11 PM

4/10/2006 5:22:28 PM

4/10/2006 5:22:32 PM
I think Stat Boy would have bought it!
4/10/2006 5:22:35 PM
4/10/2006 5:23:24 PM
NO SHIT..............he is a great coach.Coaching stats from NCAA website : http://www.ncaa.org/stats/m_basketball/coaching/all_d1_coaching_records.pdfpage 4,Calipari is number 13 in the winningest active div.1 coachesRick barnes number 36[Edited on April 10, 2006 at 5:35 PM. Reason : ffff]

Selected Teams from conferences Cal has coached inC-USA Marshall, Rice, Tulane, Southern Miss, ECU, S. Methodist, Tulsa, UTEPA-10 VTech, LaSalle, URI, Duquesne, St. Bonnie, Temple, Xavier, Dayton ACC-12 UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, BC, Maryland, GTech, Miami, UVa....he WILL get exposed as a mediocre coach when his level of competition goes upprove me otherwise
4/10/2006 5:33:39 PM
yeah he would have definitely had to meet some very good teams to get to those sweet 16, elite 8 and final 4 appearances.
4/10/2006 5:34:20 PM
k seriously kruk, dont go asking me for a name when you get suspended again if you're gonna be like this, stop being a negative nancy and pull for the pack no matter what
4/10/2006 5:35:38 PM
take a look at some other coaches that have been in those conferences for a long time. do they have cal's numbers?no, they don't.how many other c-usa coaches built their program up to top-5 status? #1-seed?you say it's b/c they are in c-usa and anyone can do that. if that is true then i have to ask why no other coach in c-usa has done it?
4/10/2006 5:36:12 PM
seriously. look at that bevy of World Beaters he had to face in the A-10 and C-USA
4/10/2006 5:38:46 PM
Also, The C-USA was very good up until this year. UAB, Cincy, Marquette, and Louisville, along with Memphis made the conference look very good!
4/10/2006 5:39:15 PM
when he got to memphis, they were just another one of those teams.also, he didn't beat any c-usa teams to make it to the elite 8 this year^exactly[Edited on April 10, 2006 at 5:40 PM. Reason : ]
4/10/2006 5:39:57 PM
Last time I checked it took a pretty good fucking coach to record those wins in the NCAA tournament. That's one area you can't criticize Kruk, conference be damned.
4/10/2006 5:40:16 PM
He scheduled very stong out of conference teams when he was at Umass and with memphis..............http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=2338081
4/10/2006 5:42:53 PM
he had fucking Marcus Camby
4/10/2006 5:44:59 PM
yes, the man is also a great recruiterbut camby had nothing to do with his out of conference scheduling. The man doesn't shy away.just give up the piss parade man.....
4/10/2006 5:49:14 PM
i'd love to see a strong ooc schedule, bring on the quality opponents
4/10/2006 6:57:42 PM
but he does the strong OOC scheduling as a response to being in weak conferences...will he continue to do that here?or maybe tone it down a little...
