its not their fault some asshat assaulted an old lady
4/7/2006 11:50:47 AM
I agree. they didn't tell them to go out and assault people. Nonetheless, they DID tell them to go out and wreck a press conference, and this is one person's way of doing that. What kind of politician tells people to do such a thing?
4/7/2006 12:02:28 PM
You're being way too histrionic. This is like blaming a musician on stage for injuries in the crowd's mosh-pit.

Once again, splitting hairs. Any rational person would assume he meant lawfully.

To me this sounds like what amounts to a protest got out of hand because ONE guy did something stupid.BTW I fully condone knocking the old lady out, if and only if the guy screamed "MASTERSTROKE" when hitting her across the face with the sign
4/7/2006 12:24:30 PM
Yeah the guy was out of line for knocking that woman over, it's silly to lay that on whoever send out the email, but telling your guys to mess up a press conference of your opponent is a pretty shitty thing to do.

4/7/2006 12:30:13 PM
protesting is only ok if its for things that i agree with
4/7/2006 1:07:14 PM
Stay classy Sugarland.
4/7/2006 2:28:02 PM
^^ Protesting != Knocking Over Old Women
4/7/2006 2:30:00 PM
NO SHIT REALLY?1
4/7/2006 3:37:42 PM
Then apparently what this cat was doing wasn't protesting and thus, your statement is irrelevant to the thread.Really.

I actually didn't see anywhere that DirtyGreek or anyone else claimed the protest wasn't ok. Thus, your statement was irrelevant.
4/7/2006 3:59:32 PM
he wouldnt have made the thread if he didnt want to imply some degree of guiltits pretty transparent, its not rocket science
4/7/2006 4:01:33 PM
Call me crazy, but it appears to me that he was pointing out that these protesters who were sent by the Delay campaign turned out to be thugs. Whether they were directed to be thugs is rather irrelevant, too. Doubly so, since it's a point DirtyGreek didn't make.[Edited on April 7, 2006 at 4:06 PM. Reason : ...]
4/7/2006 4:05:46 PM
and thats not trying to imply some guilt how?he was either trying to imply guilt, or criticizing a protest. my statement is actually more relevant for the latter.

And how do any of DirtyGreek's statements lead you to believe he doesn't think protesting in favor of a GOP position or against a DNP position is ok?
4/7/2006 4:16:22 PM
you're right, that flaming hippie is just against civil protest in general

4/7/2006 4:28:57 PM
well i actually thought he was only criticizing one type of protesting because it was tom delay. you pointed out that he might also criticize protesting against a dnp position
4/7/2006 4:30:20 PM
4/7/2006 4:31:48 PM
well he is criticizing these protesters

I'm on the "It was a shitty thing for Delay's campaign to do" but "It wasn't his fault some jackass assaulted the hippie" and "Fred Durst is a douche" platform here.

That's pretty much where I've stood since I first read the article.Calling JonHGuth on his unfounded mischaracterization of DirtyGreek's position was a sidenote.
