Today I was driving in Garner and saw something beside the road I just had to have. I bought a 1999 Honda XR200R dirt bike... fresh rebuild on the motor and the forks...i got him down to $700...I was just wondering if I got as good a price as I think I did, and also how hard if possible at all to make it street legal?

i think its a great price if its not too torn up. now with getting it to be street legal, that might be a lilttle difficult

btt..... just wondering if anyone has every tried to make one of these street legal? Also what would be the penalty for putting some decals off a 50cc dirt bike and sporting as a moped..(kind of kidding on the last one, but also just wondering)

call triangle cycles in durham, they said there is a way to make a ktm dirtbike street-legal. i dont know if that applies to honda.the general rule is you usually has to mount some street legal lights and show it to a inspector (not state inspection station, but a dmv kind). there might be some issues with exhaust as wellas far as the moped thing.. probably not gonna fly is you get pulled over. on the other hand, by buddy had a bike with a cardboard+crayons licence plate for four or five months and havent had any problems riding it all around raleigh and garner.[Edited on April 6, 2006 at 12:18 PM. yeah, def. They weigh nothing. I'd get a dirt bike to practice some tricks, but I don't live in the country. Stupid suburban area, can't do shit here without cops being called every 5 mins.
