I guess it really depends on the article on whether or not they can file suit. If you can show that the information was available for free somewhere else, they you might not have to worry. If they can show that only their employees had access to that information and it was exclusive to their premium members...then you're in trouble.

You guys really are dumb.

Most people pay to use that site to keep up with recruiting. WRAL and the N&O do nothing about recruiting. And there is inside information that the news channels and newspapers will never know about, or they won't find out about it until a week or two down the road (it's funny that a lot of radio/TV/newspaper guys have paid memberships to these websites...it's for a reason).

Some of the information they get you can get from newspapers all over the country...but that's a minority of their articles.

I screwed up yesterday by posting what was on the premium boards.... and yes, there has been quite a bit of uproar about it involving myself....rightfully so.

I'd recommend that if any of you didn't want to be in my position, which you don't, that you take this seriously and don't do it.

I won't be posting anything else... so don't ask. I very rarely do, but I figured in this circumstance, I would. I didn't realize it was that big of a deal considering it wasn't an "article", just a post on the board. I was wrong.

Either way, won't happen again... and trust me, none of you that are members over there want to go through what I have been through involving this mess.

Sorry T-Dub and Packpride.

I was really considering going premium today but after reading this I will definitely never do it. I always thought it was bullshit the way they portrayed things as exclusive premium content but it really turned out to be public domain (or simply fluff). Then when I see the mods censor, threaten, or even ban people for things that they themselves do in threads it just puts things over the top. Fuck 'em.

Someone please tell me what Packpride steals/repeats/etc and posts as premium. The premium articles are from inside sources and are not poached from other places....the majority of the recruiting info comes from James and Steve researching (calls, networking, etc.) and they post it or tell people in chat.

Some of the info may come thru from the scout.com network but the stuff you guys are talking about is on the free boards. The web run is just links to news articles involving NCSU athletics...that is not premium info.

Get your facts straight before claiming PP.com is sueing over something that they do too. That is just plain false. I would read PackBacker's post over and over before thinking I was a tough guy and show them who is boss. This may be a open forum for students (mainly) but PP.com premuim is a business and you can't steal from a business.
