nearly every show i've been to at the brewery. the lineup is always completely inconsistent in genre and somehow they tend to book the worst local acts.

^^ i hope you're talking about the new brewery and not the old one

and my worst comes from one of my all time favorite bands, modest mouse, last summer. the sound in the place was absolutely awful, it was nothing but 15 year old kids trying to mosh, and they played about 3-4 pre-good times are killing me songs. biggest dissapointment ever.

^^I didn't think Modest Mouse was THAT bad. I've seen them a few times and I've actually seen them better and worse. I thought built to spill sucked pretty bad the last time they were at the cradle

worst concert I've ever attended was the indigo girls (former gf made me go).

worst concert i've attended of a band that I actually like was Smashing Pumpkins when they came to chapel hill in '97. They just stood there and played their set lethargically. Absolutely no energy or emotion.

a show at the brewery a few years ago, can't even remember the band's name but I know if I ask one of my friends he'd know immediately, he loves them.

there was a show at the pit that was basically some local highschool reject drug addicts yelling for 30 minutes. I can't really call it a concert because it was basically random people jumping on "stage" and grabbing the microphone.

Spiritualized and BRMC at the Cradle.

BRMC was just bad, and Spiritualized was disappointingly bland.

Pavement was also mildly disappointing because they focused on TT songs (not because of their notoriously iffy stage presence, which was fine), but the show was saved by the ass-rocking of the White Stripes.

^^^ I interviewed BRMC before that show. They were pretentious dicks, and then when I came back for the show they hadn't put me on the list.

as crazy as this sounds, the worst concert i ever went to was the Green Day / Blink 182 event at Walnut Creek. the concert itself wasnt bad actually, its what i found when i returned to my car. some ASSHOLE(S) had jumped all over the hood of my car which had JUST gotten out of the shop from deer damage.

speaking of deer...who the fuk expects there to be 3 deer in the middle of Creedmoor Road near the Wendy's [which now serves breakfast btw]?

^haha, i remember that....the deer, then the hood...bad luck.

Worst Concert I have ever attended...... i'll say 3 door down...they weren't even bad, it's just that i'm not a big fan of theirs (had free tickets)

im pretty selective over who I pay to see play, so i dont have a lot of bad concert experience....
though i will say that meeting Queens of the Stoneage and they were COMPLETELY smashed before the show....yet somehow played fine. Rockstars.

probably The Who (minus Keith Moon, of course...but with John Entwistle)

it was that concert they played at Walnut Creek where they just played straight through Quadrophenia with the film playing on a big screen. Prob cool if you like Quadrophenia, but I don't, and it sucked.

and yeah, I've seen Hank Williams, Jr a few times, and he was too drunk to really play one time. Couldn't remember the words to his songs...he'd just start a song in the middle, half-ass a few verses, then stop and play something else.

Counting Crows. Just. Awful. If I wanted to see a guy crying and reading poetry, I'd go to a coffee house on poetry slam night.

even though I do enjoy the music... The string cheese incident is not a great concert to go to if you aren't:
1. high
or 2. drunk

the songs never ended. went in at like 5:30-6, got out at like 12 or 12:30. It also didn't help that I had to drive 1.5 hours there and then 1.5 more back.

not just because it was bad (which it was) but we also got lost all over dc trying to find the place and had to drive back from a disappointing show in the middle of the night.

I used to work the shows at Walnut Creek and what is weird is James Taylor got the most complaints that summer. People were so pissed they were just leaving. Ironically, Ted Nugent rocked the place.

Also, Busta Rhymes got booed and I think made some not-so-subtle comments to the audience.

^^ Have you honestly never gone to see a band you like and it turned out to be a shitty show? That was the case for both of the ones I've mentioned here.

i went to that crossroads thing at state back in 2000 when they had jump, little children. i thought they sucked big time. i've since grown to like more of their stuff, but i hated em for a while just based on that concert.
