i was already counting down the hours til thursday morning, but with phil's performance at the bellsouth, this is looking like it's going to be an amazing week in augusta. i thought tiger was unbeatable coming in, with everyone else giving up now as they have so far this season, but it looks like it's going to be a two horse race with phil. i can't wait for sunday.

Phil will choke if Tiger is anywhere close to that leaderboard.

you are correct in saying that phil has choked against tiger in the past, but phil didn't choke in 2004, and as good as tiger's playing i still think he's vulnerable if someone is willing to step up. i guess it's more wishful thinking and hope that phil will step his mental game up and finally give us that two man rivalry we've been waiting for, i.e. jack and arnie.

meh.

Augusta is too easy.

They keep lengthening the course and the players keep ripping it to shreads.

I wish they would make one of the 4 majors a short course, where accuracy > length.

The US Open would be the ideal short course major, and Tiger wouldn't be as dominant.

Tiger has already played it, said it was long and then had a huge smile on his face

Tiger wins by a ton of shots

Yeah, Fuck that shit. He wins it in 97, then they decide to lengthen it, but not until 2001, when he wins his next jacket, but barely.

Then they lengthen it and he's won 2 in 4 years. Thx hootie you fucking nigger lover for taking the short knockers out of it.

Fuck it though, I just assume Tiger and Phil shoot it out at every tournament. They're the most exciting right now.

i cant stand lefty

hes gettin fatter by the year and hes just annoying when he plays poorly

Id much rather see Ernie, Garcia, Goosen(whos playin really really well lately) or Freddie play Tiger on Sunday...they would make it much more interesting.

Hootie is a POS. This link is probably posted somewhere else on this board, so sorry if it's somewhere already.

This is a really good read for those who grew up watching the Masters before Hootie destroyed it and love Augusta for the course, the beauty, and the history.

i really don't think hootie cares who wins, and if you want to know the truth, i doubt he's a big fan of tiger. hootie keeps making these changes to protect his precious course and to keep the scores from getting to more than 10 under par, which is inevitably going to happen even if they make it 8,000 yards.

Last year at Pinhurst I would say Accuracy was pretty darn important. The 6 inch Bermuda rough was crazy, and the humped greens made it near impossible to score.

Lets just say, I like a tournament where the winner is Even par over 4 days.

I love how making Augusta longer is called "Tiger-proofing" when it really is playing right into his hands by taking out the shorter hitters like David Toms, Fred Funk, etc.

I really like Goosen's chances for some reason even though he has never played well at The Masters.

Im pulling for Couples as always, Phil, and Sergio.

how can any of you pull for sergio??????????

dude is a whiney fuck.

if tiger can't win, and man-titties doesnt get lucky........... then lets at least hope JD gets drunk and humps a flag-stick

yeah Sergio was cool his first few years, but recently he has been a dickwad.

I got Phil, Couples, JD, Tiger, and any short knocker who wants to stick it to Hootie Johnson.

I pull for Tiger now cause there are so many people who cant stand him. I used to be like that, but there's no point. He's freakin sick. All the best to him.

so i was there tuesday and i follow fred funk for about 5 holes. mostly cause noone was following his ...so i could really see some golf and see the course

but i asked him at one point ..."fred, what do you think of the changes?"....he says .."man, i dont like them. most courses are taking down trees. these guys are putting them up. plus its longer which is no good for me.'...he was laughing when he said the part about it being longer...but i guess that would be because he is one of the shorter players out there.....anyway....good times

^agreed...i watched him on the range for about 20 min...

he would hit a few balls...then his coach (or whoever it was) would step in and show him some things....he would take practice swings...then he would hit a few more....granted all players and coaches are like that...but it just looked like DD was really struggling with his swing and trying to work some things out

but im with you...when that guy was on...he was seriously on

he has already made more cuts this year than all of last year

who is his coach now? is it the same one he had b4 all of his troubles?

^go to pgatour.com and click masters leaderboard; it is a little slow but it works

Lokken, cbssportsline.com is the best

they have the best scoreboard, and you can see whole scorecards (it is actully better for regular tour events) but the masters is always a bit screwey!
