ok over the weekend my box rebooted on it's own (i'm thinking they updated the firmware or something), and now i get this message saying my tv does not support HDCP and i can't use my HDMI cable anymore. WHAT THE FUCKi've been using the HDMI cable ever since i got my tv a year ago.

in greensboro they added some channels in the 1000 range for some fuckin reason so to get to channel 25 i have to hit 0-0-2-5. There are plenty of other open channels.

ours does that every now and theni just power cycle and it goes backmy roommate had the guy come out and he didnt do anything

Planned Upgrade May Disable Your Digital Converter BoxBeginning at approximately 3:00 a.m., Tuesday (March 28) morning, Time Warner Cable will be upgrading all digital cable converters throughout our entire service area. We expect to complete the upgrade no later than mid-day Tuesday.The first phase of the upgrade will take approximately 5 to 30 minutes to complete. During this brief period, your digital converter box will not be available for use and a message will appear on your screen to remind you that the upgrade is taking place and that the box is temporarily unavailable. It is very important not to use your remote control or press any of the buttons on your digital converter box during this time period while the on-screen message is displayed. Trying to interact with the box during the upgrade process will cause the box to fail and will require you to exchange your digital converter.After the first phase of the upgrade is complete (5 — 30 minutes) and the on-screen message is no longer visible, your digital converter should be functional with the following exceptions: Movies On Demand and other On Demand services will not be available after 11 p.m. tonight (Monday, March 27) until the entire upgrade has been completed mid-day on Tuesday. If your DVR is set to record a scheduled event, it will not record during the box upgrade period. When the box returns to normal after the completion of the upgrade, the DVR will resume its regular recording schedule.After this process, if you are having problems with your converter box, please re-boot the box. To do this, simply hold the power button in for 8 seconds while the box is on. ^ yeah thats probably the culprit but it still doesnt explain why a previously working HDMI connection would suddenly stop working. try rebooting like someone else suggested.

i can get around the error by rebooting, but then it will come back eventually, usually the next time i turn on the tv. another way around it is to turn the cable box on first and then the tv. that is a pain in the ass though. what did they improve to cause this extra grief? i haven't noticed anything better yet.

been running into this all weekend, but only first thing in the morning.if we disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable it works for the rest of the day.
