Some folks have said Simmons and Fells were unhappy with Herb after the season, actually.

I'd like to think the young guys will all stay. They have a chance to prove themselves to a new coach who might utilize them better. Everyone has a fresh start..... yatta yatta yatta but there is truth to starting fresh with a new coach...

nobody is going to leave, recruits or players until a new coach is announced. if we get a big name then they will stick around, if not, the # of players that leave is going to be equally proportional to how shitty the coach is.

usually most players/recruits don't leave after a coaching change.

they may talk about it, but eventually they calm down, meet the new guy, like him, and it's all cool.

those players won't leave. this coaching change is the best thing that could happen for them, since they will most likely end up with a coach that understands how to coach the talent he has.

That is total speculation.

The only thing I am pretty sure of is that we will lose Wright... but I could be pleasantly surprised..

it's not herb, it's the success of our program. losing herb means our program is going to shit. we are going to lose a lot of players over this and we will not make the tournament next year. in fact, i don't think we will go to 5 tournaments in a row again within the next 10 years.

the ONLY way we can keep from losing everyone is if we hire a great coach IMMEDIATELY, and that aint gonna happen, because nobody great will EVER come here so they can get stuck in the shadow of K and Roy. we will get a mid-major guy from say, miami of ohio or some shit that will be a complete gamble, kind of like herb was.

honestly, i hope we hire mike davis, so all you fucking rednecks will shit yourself over a black guy being our coach.

mike davis sucks as a coach

secondly

the program is not going to go to shit

it was already shit

The players are not going anywhere

the vast majority of them were sick of Herb.

That is at worst a lie and at best a total exaggeration and you know it. The program was NOT shit. The program at worst had leveled off. It was definitely NOT shit. The recruiting was top notch still and the results were far above average still.

Does that mean the fanbase should settle for those results? No. But to say the program was shit is ridiculous...

the recruiting was a lot better than the results, and there is no excuse for that. All future players will see from that is a coach who doesn't produce real results or develop them for the next level of play.

there is a big difference here

from what I understand all the players minus the likes of Atsur were upset with Herb.

the marjority were about to transfer.

so get off this chicken little bullshit.

^Well, it was becoming obvious that fells was pissed over his playing time. During his recruiting Herb pumped him up to be the next Hodge, and so acording to grant (via interviews) fells was not handleing that well.

One guy a bit upset about playing time /= the majority of the team about to transfer.. seems like hyperbole to me..

now that he's gone, the players will be safe to say what they want about Herb. They couldn't do that while he was still the head coach. You can expect a lot to come out about the subject matter next week.

I think it could be possible to get a great coach, yes he would be in the shadows of K and Roy, but at the same time he is on the doorstep to prove something to the rest of the country.

he couldn't if he wanted too, he only has one more year, and he would have to sit it out if he transfered.

^you are a dumbass. you don't lose a year of eligibility when you transfer, you just have to not play for a year. so yes, if he wanted to, he could.

actually both of you are wrong

if a coach leaves u dont have to sit out a year, u can transfer i believe its to any school and not lose a single year

I know Florida has been lookin at a good # of our guys now that Herb is gone

The only people who can "transfer" without penalty would be the incoming class.... if our Athletic Department decided to release them from thier LOI.

Why the hell would they leave...i really doubt fells and grant liked playing the offense they were forced to play with Herb...just look at how much fun they had at the end of the 1st half of the texas game.

The players loved Herb so much

They rolled over and died on him at the end of the season.

Er I'm sorry, I meant "injuries"
