You might not be the first, but you might indeed be the most vague.

When I said you were being vagueI wasn't asking what movie you were playing. What is actually happening? Are you getting a disc read error? Are you getting it when you insert the disc or in the middle of the movie? How old is your PS2?
4/1/2006 12:29:20 PM
Alright then...It's one of the new skinny ps2's, sometimes it won't play it (a DVD) at all... but this one was playing and it just quit.
4/1/2006 12:39:27 PM

4/1/2006 12:41:03 PM
what should I "clean" it with?
4/1/2006 12:42:08 PM
Like I saidwhat do you mean by "it won't play it at all"?What do you mean by "it just quit"?The reason I asked if you were getting a disc read error is because I wanted to know if you were getting a disc read error.

^^^Um, why should he stay out of this thread? Although flaming, he did provide some semi-helpful tips.To answer your question, certain models of PS2's are known to have their disc readers degrade over time ... no matter how well you've taken care of the unit. You can probably Google up the information or call Sony directory if that's the case.
4/1/2006 12:44:54 PM
^we've resolved that. Now how and what should I clean it with?
4/1/2006 12:47:32 PM
Clean it with your distilled and bottled technical prowess.
4/1/2006 12:48:59 PM
It quit in the middle... Nazi. BTW the disc IS clean.[Edited on April 1, 2006 at 1:37 PM. Reason : clean.]

you can buy a CD that has two little brushes on either side of the disc.it comes with an oil that you apply to th ebrushes, then insert the disc, and follow the instructions on the screen.and it will clean the lens
