Did anyone go to that session in MRC where the teacher and the TA's discussed tomorrow's test?Does anyone have predictions for what the problems to be, and how we should prepare?I heard the first problem will be definitions, which is easy, just need to print off all the homework solutions since the last test. The other two are kinda out there, we've gone through all this physics stuff so I imagine something like gauss law will show up, I'm praying for no triple integrals. We also have the end of the transmission line stuff, seems everything from lectures 7 to 15 is fair game for the test.Anyone care to make some predictions or post anything helpful at all?

I completely forgot about that study session thing. I definitely would have been there if I had remembered. As for predictions, I really don't know.

I have about 5 previous tests

I'm read up and feel confident through lecture 12. Hopefully I can learn the last three by tommorow morning. ]

On page 214 of the notes, is teh Electric field in between the plates given by rho/2*e? It kinda looks like the two was marked out, but it's hard to tell with this scribbling.

it looks like a 2 to me, I dont think it could be a z because he doesnt mention z anywhere else in the example

Well, I wasn't thinking it was a z, I was wondering if it was marked out. You know the way his notes are.

Yep, it's a 2.Rarely have I felt so unprepared for a test before.

That wasn't so bad, really. Especially since number 2 was pretty much straight out of the homeworks.
3/28/2006 1:48:35 PM
Yeah, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I think #3 was more or less a simplified version of one of the HW problems, too.

The test felt fair, but it was also kind of a race to cannabalize the homework before time ran out. I had the solutions printed out and both problems were kinda variations on those old solutions, so I just copied the steps furiously, substituting in the different parameters, cleaning it up a bit for the parts that werent relevant to our questions, and then time ran out.I was really anticipating much worse, he could have really reamed us with an unexpected twist but he kept it all predictable.

Did he hand them out today? I was still sleeping In any case, grades are up. 85, same as the first. I just wish my homework wasn't so sucky.
