I ordered a class ring online under the assumption that the balfour company was sending my ring to me. I called them today asking where my ring was at and they said I could pick it up at the ring ceremony on April 22 at 4:30. The problem is I have another banquet at the same time. So does anyone know how to get my ring? I will try calling the alumni association...

The Alumni office said: The rings are delivered to the ring ceremony on April 22. If a student can't attend the ceremony, rings can picked up the following Monday at the main campus bookstore.

It’s kind of disappointing that they gave up uniqueness for regularity. The only reason I like the idea of a class ring (as a person who doesn’t otherwise really wear jewelry) is because they are a unique expression of your major, your studies, the groups you were involved with, the type of degree, your college, your personal philosophies, your name, and your department. Ifs it’s just another piece of jewelry designed to look like the same thing everyone else is wearing, with very little person expression, then what’s the point?I do wonder what kind of financial benefits ncsu got for giving all of its contracts to one company? Several other companies said they have the molds to make very individualized rings, but aren't legally allowed to by ncsu any more, but wish that they could help.[Edited on March 28, 2006 at 5:36 PM.
