if you like god of war and want a game with more challenge and better gameplay (albeit not as much polish in presentation), get devil may cry 3

hell, devil may cry 1 has more depth of gameplay than god of war

Metal Gear Solid 2 (never played 3)
Gran Turismo 3 & 4 are both pretty good
GTA 3 or SA (never played VC)
Tekken 5 is a must-have fighter
and I'll go ahead and say Zone of the Enders 2 cause that game rocked
