I had this problem. I narrowed it down to the vid card and tried DLing new drivers to no avail. i ended up switching out the vid card, though, and the problem went away.i don't know if that helps you.Good luck though P.S. i think it's a windows thing specifically, i.e. not the hardware, cause when I ran FC4 I never had any problems with video.[Edited on March 26, 2006 at 12:30 AM. i do have more ram installed than the mb can handle, but the system hasn't crashed like this before and it's been set-up like that for a couple of years now...
