im looking to get a used car for around $5000-6000. Im looking for a 1999+ so like a 99 or 2000 because of price range, and also looking lower gas mileage, under 90k.

I've been looking on craiglist and saw a few 2000 dodge neons for sale for around 5000, im looking for personal opinions on cars a such. what do you think about the neon?

i was also looking for a honda or volkswagon around the price range but they are a little higher more like 7000. feedback would be great.

a 2nd gen neon will be very reliable and get good gas mileage. 2nd gens (2000-2005) don't have head gasket problems and if you can find an r/t model it should be pretty fun to drive. They are very roomy inside and easy to work on.

$5k-$6k is enough to get a decent car. I wouldn't even look at a Neon. A Civic/Integra/Accord/Camry/etc. of the same price might have more miles, but would be a much better car IMO.

I would say a civic/accord/camry/corolla. All very reliable, relativley cheap to service, good build quality, lots of standard features (for the money), very ergonomic, fuel efficient, built to last.
