hate to say it..but he will be a great player next year..the guy can get up, is fearless, and can handle the ball.
3/24/2006 9:15:46 AM
Outside of being able to dunk he has shown me NOTHING this year. He'll be good but only because they will have shit else to turn to..He may go pro as I've read for some reason he is projected Top 7..
3/24/2006 9:17:25 AM
josh mcrobots
3/24/2006 9:18:46 AM
he has really impressed me..y eah all he does is dunk.BUT he has made so NICE passes and he can dribble and run the floor for a big man.
3/24/2006 9:20:00 AM
he is the man. i almost...almost was sad to see duke's season end last night. they were a fun team to watch
3/24/2006 9:24:05 AM
dude's going pro, you heard it here first
3/24/2006 9:24:48 AM
^ not really. They have been talking about that since like January. I've mentioned it quite a few times. He hasn't impressed me one bit. He's not terribly athletic, hasn't shot well, can't D up one on one (nearly all his blocks were help D after Shelden gets beat), and can't shoot a lick. He dunks and dribbles behind his back every so often. He has potential but certainly not enough IMO to go Top 10 at this point.. I could be wrong but I just don't see it..[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 9:28 AM. Reason : you linked to 2007 draft fool.. it's 2006..]
3/24/2006 9:27:18 AM
top 5 on nbadraft.nethttp://www.nbadraft.net/index.asp?content=mock2006i'm suprised they don't have him going to the bullsseems like they're trying to create duke 2.0 in chicago[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 9:29 AM. Reason : ]
3/24/2006 9:27:48 AM
too bad he loses his temper easily
3/24/2006 9:32:46 AM
i've seen some nba mock drafts that are projecting he may leave.but i can only see that with a nat. championship since duke was expecting it. too bad the senior jj let him down.

I don't see how anyone can say he's not athletic. I think he's VERY athletic for a guy his size. He's a fucking freshman and can hold his own with just about anyone. He'll be a decent pro.
3/24/2006 10:15:37 AM
Comparison sake. He isn't NEARLY as athletic as the other guys who will be drafted on POTENTIAL. Come on, he is 6'10"... he can do some sick dunks but that doesn't make him all that athletic. You can't tell me you think he is honestly quick, can you?He is NO WHERE NEAR as athletic is a Rudy Gay type. I'm not saying the guy is an oaf but he is NOT the most athletic guy out there.. not by a long shot. With the track record that Duke has developing big men (elton brand not withstanding) he might be better served to learn on the fly in the NBA...[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 10:22 AM. ^dude, I don't know who you've been watching, but for a 6'10" big man, he is pretty damn quick. do you not see him get out and run the floor? not to mention he's what, like 18? He'll be good.
3/24/2006 10:27:55 AM
He will be good, I have no doubt. I just don't think he athletic enough for a team to draft him in the lottery as of now. Nothing against the kid but I'm not impressed by a kid dunking the ball a few times and dribbling behind his back.I understand he played out of position a bit facing the basket this year w/ Shelden down low but he NEEDS more time in college.Just my opinion.. I've been wrong plenty of times before.
3/24/2006 10:32:55 AM
Mr. McRoberts... please go proI dont want to spend another season watching you dunk and kick your feet up in the air...
3/24/2006 11:02:23 AM
he's athletic for a white guy, but guys like gay, terry, and carney are all much more athletic AND skilled. if he stayed around i could see him becoming a more athletic version of pittsnogle, but he won't.
3/24/2006 12:06:38 PM
He made a couple careless mistakes in the last minutes that cost Duke. The one foul under their basket for no apparent resason and then he dribbled the ball from one end of the court straight out of bounds on the other side. I haven't really been following Duke so all I saw was the last 5 minutes of the game and those 2 mistakes though.

yeah compare pittsnogle to melvin (onyl way smarter and less goofy)he and mcBobs are two different players(you wont see pittsnogle win a dunk contest either)

I think if he is projected as a top 10. He'll jump.
3/24/2006 4:40:49 PM
the same site (nbadraft.net) has Ced going #7 in 2007, and doesn't take into consideration high school players leaving early, so this info is a bit skewed.http://www.nbadraft.net/index.asp?content=mock2007[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 4:51 PM. Reason : asdf]

mcroberts is going to be pretty bad asslets hope he leaves after next year
3/24/2006 6:08:17 PM
i dont really care about dukebut i love mcroberts...given the room to shine next year, he is going to be sensational...he can really run the courtbut i really wanted to reply because that is a phenomenal picture that syrup posted (for artistic purposes, not for duke bashing purposes)
3/24/2006 11:53:43 PM
this guy has no position in college, let alone the prosif he showed any kind of post presence this year then maybe you could say he could be a kevin garnett type player but as it stands now he's a more athletic shavlik randolph
3/25/2006 12:25:49 AM
3/25/2006 1:09:36 AM
That picture is great. For some reason it reminds me of the movie Garden State.
3/25/2006 1:17:04 AM
his position in the pros would be a 3/4 combo player...i like the comparison to garnett except not nearly as good, or as good a rebounderonce he gets a handle on some of those passes he throws and hones his shot from three, watch out
3/25/2006 10:26:05 AM
Mcroberts will receive a lot of attention next year from defenders with Redick and Williams gone. He'll wish JJ was back, I don't think SheWill's departure will hurt him as much as JJ's, because JJ drew at least one defneder outside of the perimeter on EVERY possession. He's not a center, too soft right now, but if he develops a consistent 3 ball, and puts on 12-15 pounds in the weightroom without affecting his athleticism, I like his chances at 2nd team all american next year and a no brainer for all ACC. Wouldn't draft him in the first round this year though if I were an NBA GM, but they draft off potential anyway, so maybe I would.
