Tell her to return it, she will have to eat the shipping and maybe some restocking fees, but I don't think you can get that much for it.Nice laptop though

ibm (lenovo) is by far the best brand of laptop you can buy...the suckers are practically indestructible (as far as a laptop can be, anyway) and their rock-solid in terms of performance and hardware...if i had the money, i'd buy a lenovo

she decided to grab this deal for $821.77 . definately keep the IBM and send back the Dell...I've had both (multiple models) and IBM is much better quality
3/23/2006 9:33:22 AM
^I disagree...I had an IBM thinkpad and it sucked. I got a Dell, and have had no problems. Not saying you're wrong, in which case...I prolly am, but still...felt like disagreeing
3/23/2006 9:54:42 AM
well...that IS a heck of a computer for a lot less of the price...

why would they buy the epp price from you when they could buy the epp price from ibm and customize it?you will have to come down on the price to get people interested

I'm just speaking from personal experience. I've used both a Dell and a Thinkpad extensively. Honestly, the percentage of Dell computers that have detrimental problems is much higher than that of Thinkpad computers. I've never known of a Dell laptop that was worth its cost, no matter how great the deal. I've known of ones that had to be sent back to the company 3 or more times... and that is a couple month process each time... just for the laptop to malfunction again a week after it is returned. (Dell customer service is non-existant after you own the computer... btw. They're really nice until you pay them... then they don't care about you anymore.)

Thinkpads are like tanks. High quality, but also high cost.I always buy Dell because I get more computer for my money then I ever would with IBM Lenovo. Sure, a Thinkpad would last longer and be more durable, but I replace laptops every year or so anyway so durability is not an issue and Dell's affordable pricing allows me to do that.

$850

i have something very similar to this except with more memory, faster processor, etc...but its a great computer as is all IBM computers for whoever buys this, id add 512mb to make it 1gb or more and then youll be flying...

eh, i'll stick with my toshiba laptops...i, too, upgrade every year, and when those suckers go on sale, i've never found a computer that was a better value than a toshiba...i'm on my fourth one in as many years and i have never had a problem with any of them
