USA vs. Germany tomorrow on ESPN2 at 2:30Even though our world cup starting 11 wont probably be there due to other leagues, this will probably give us a good prediction on what world cup 2006 is going to be like considering germany is a very respectable club.
3/21/2006 8:55:51 PM
everyone will be there, thats why theyre playing it in germany (europe). all the regulars will be starting and playing most of the match except for donovan...he got hurt and is out 3-4 weeks with a calf injury. check http://www.ussoccer.com for details about the lineup...
3/21/2006 9:06:13 PM
http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_280832.htmlhedjuk is also out with an injury
3/21/2006 9:07:46 PM
good, im glad most of our guys will be there thenisnt reyna just coming off of an injury also?
3/21/2006 9:12:35 PM
yeah but i dont think hes playing yet, i havent seen that anywhere atleast
3/21/2006 9:13:54 PM
You sure?? I was under the impression the Prem players weren't going to make the trip. With the FA Cup and a full compliment of Prem games this weekend I didn't think McBride, Friedel, etc were going to be with the team...I completely forgot that Convey plays for Reading now. They can clinch promotion up to the top flight with a win this weekend...[Edited on March 21, 2006 at 9:21 PM. Reason : f]
3/21/2006 9:16:08 PM
do you know if that bitch Jens Jeremies is on Germany's roster this year.i think i remember him being the douche bag that the USA hates. cant remember the reason
3/21/2006 9:16:17 PM
In their last games, Germany lost in Italy 4-1 and USA won against Poland 1-0.Needless to say, the German coach is in hot water and needs a win.
3/21/2006 9:24:09 PM
yeah i saw that game, germany sucked a big one

3/21/2006 9:29:33 PM
3/21/2006 10:15:45 PM
BTW, Friedel retired from international competition. The US goal depth chart is as follows:Kasey KellerKevin Hartman/Tim Howard (needs playing time)Marcus Hahnemann^ Beasley and Gooch are just as if not more important than Donovan and McBride.
3/21/2006 11:06:57 PM
What's the chance of the US pulling it out today?
3/22/2006 8:33:29 AM
I'd say the chances are pretty strong. Germany's team is SUPER weak.
3/22/2006 9:00:42 AM
But it seems like our top guys are out?
3/22/2006 9:02:27 AM
^^^^ I knew that. I wasn't thinking. I meant Howard considering he isn't getting much run with ManU..I'm surprised Convey was allowed to go but I suppose Reading has no real worries considering they are going to be promoted regardless..[Edited on March 22, 2006 at 9:05 AM. Reason : what club does Onweyu play for?]
3/22/2006 9:04:25 AM
Howard doesn't get any burn with ManU because he's garbage....I honestly wouldn't feel safe with him in goal at all if I were a USA fan
3/22/2006 9:06:38 AM
Gooch plays for Standard Liege in the Belgian First Division. He's there on a team option tacked to the end of a loan from FC Metz in Ligue 1 in France.^ As for Howard, I think he's an outstanding goalkeeper when he's on, and shaky at best when he's not. You can't ignore the fact that he won Premiership goalkeeper of the year. After the debacle at Porto in the CL, he really got the shaft from Sir Alex. Say what you want about him, but he never dropped a kick from midfield over the line like a certain Manc 'keeper whose names ends with -oy -arroll.
3/22/2006 9:32:59 AM
I'm not saying Roy Carroll was the end all and be all, I'm just saying that every game I've seen out of Howard since he got benched, he's proven again and again that he's not first team material anymore. I could understand if he didn't get any playing time at all, but he plays with the reserves almost every game. It's like he gets out on the first team stage and shits his pants because he's constantly doing DUMB things.
3/22/2006 9:48:56 AM
4 hours away!im so pumped and have been looking forward to this game for over a month. should be exciting
3/22/2006 9:56:13 AM
^^ yeah but ManU really fucked him over by getting him to sign a deal and then going out and getting Van der Sar... I mean, he could've gone somewhere else in the epl or anywhere else to get some playing time and get better
3/22/2006 10:12:12 AM
doesnt howard have tourettes?
3/22/2006 12:21:28 PM
he does, but I don't think it affects his playing abilityI think the fact that he sucks affects his playing abilityand aimorris he used to be the starter, he's been with the devils since 2003. He's just shitty, that's why he got benched. They just picked up VDS this past offseason.[Edited on March 22, 2006 at 12:29 PM. Reason : .]
3/22/2006 12:29:01 PM
so is it worth $5 to bet on the US, pays out $22.50
3/22/2006 12:36:39 PM
YES
3/22/2006 12:44:46 PM
sorry -- i am new to this soccer thing. i'm tryin to learn more about the team so when i go see them play in Cary i'll know what's going on.
3/22/2006 12:50:33 PM
well in FIFA rankings we're up to 5th in the world but we have to back it up in Germany. im so pissed I did not get a ticket to the jamaica game so if anyone has an extra let me know
3/22/2006 12:58:39 PM
yeah I knew he was the starter, but he signed an extension I think like a month before they got Van der Sar... I read an article that he was pretty upset about that because he probably would've gone somewhere else
3/22/2006 2:26:41 PM
jesus, germany is coming out hard. their attack is relentless. we've had 2 good opportunities, but germany looks much more aggressive than we do.
3/22/2006 2:50:22 PM

3/22/2006 4:13:13 PM
Road to Germany humiliation
3/22/2006 4:13:54 PM
we're not going to be humiliatedon the other hand there are a handfull of teams who have the potential to be humiliated to the point where they might not wanna go back to their home country
3/22/2006 4:17:30 PM
4-1
3/22/2006 4:17:40 PM
Johnson doesn't even look like he got hit...At least we got a goal..
