anyone know if you can upgrade a phone with cingular. I have a family plan any my contract has expired. I asked the cingular attendent if I could upgrade and he was like yeah, "you can upgrade to this razor for just $200." can I get a upgrade amount. I know people with Verizon get like a $100 credit every year to upgrade their phone.

you get the discount price of the phone for signing a new contract

I think it depends on your contract and lenght of time since your last. (they had to see if i was "eligible for another upgrade"), then it was reduced. i got a roxr for like 150 that way...

you dont get moneyby signing another contract you are allowed to buy the phone at the hugely discounted price. without the discount that $30 phone is well over $100if you call and talk about how you would sign a new contract if you had a credit to help with the price of a new phone you might get somewhere but i doubt it

like said before you only get a discounted phone, but even if it says you're not eligible for an upgrade look online, sometimes it's not the same

if you call customer service you will probbaly get a better deal. just call and tell them you were thinking about cancelling. they can negotiate with you. then be like well I was thinking about going to verizon and getting their razor phone.............i be they offer it to you for like $50 or some crazy shit to get you to renew. It costs wireless providers upwards of $400 in advertising to land each new customer. Generally once you get ahold of the retention department you can get a deal cut when your out of contract. Them offering you a discount to get you to re-sign guarantees them another 1-2 years of revenue from you.
