So at Suncom yesterday, the guy told us that if we could get online and find the unlock code for my Samsung X427 (has a Cingular chip in it) that we could then use put a Suncom chip in it and use it. Has anyone ever tried this with any success??

Your unlock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number. At least I've NEVER known a phone that that wasn't the case for.

yeah it's not to unlock your buttonsbut pretty much to "free" it from Cingular so that I could put the Suncom card into it and start using the phone with their services

^^ no, thats the phone lock code...so you can do administrative shit with your phone. (what do you have verizon?)the phone unlock code, the code to let you use your phone with any carrier, is an entirely different issue.[Edited on March 17, 2006 at 11:11 AM. Reason : ^ ]

i unlocked mine from AT&T to use on Cingular, look for the phone model # and unlock or subsidy code. I'll look when I get home from work and see if i can find it. It ran me $30 bucks but it depends on the phone.

unfortunately that website has a policy where people can't post stuff about the unlock codes
3/20/2006 3:13:11 PM
all my unlocks codes have been 0000
3/20/2006 3:25:12 PM
^dude, that is the PHONE LOCK code. that won't let you use a Cingular SIM in a phone that is locked for T-Mobile, or vice versa.
3/20/2006 3:29:09 PM
^ DUDEI KNOWI'M TELLING YOU THAT IT WAS THE UNLOCK CODE FOR THE FUCKING SOFTWARE.NOT JUST THE KEYPAD
3/20/2006 3:33:46 PM
so you've taken a phone that was defnitely locked to one service provider and used it with another provider's SIM card, by putting "0000" into some menu?
3/20/2006 3:43:53 PM
no way...he is being a fag
3/20/2006 4:23:36 PM
There are Keypad locks, that no one is talking about. There are Phone locks, that Maugan is describing. Really has nothing to do with the question in this thread. Then there are service locks, that NCDoodlebug is asking about, and ncWOLFsu and others are talking about[Edited on March 20, 2006 at 5:13 PM.
