I love the open practices that teams hold at the sites for the tournament games...they usually structure the practices to give some extra entertainment for the fans, and they usually draw a good crowd.Last year, we signed out during lunch from my high school and went to watch the teams practicing downtown in Nashville. I remember Florida doing a couple long range shooting competitions etc. Anyways, what I'm wondering is what everyone thinks about them? Do you think it's a good idea for players to have a more laid back practice before they start the tournament and to be able to show off for some fans? Or do you think maybe some coaches and teams would rather the practices be closed to the public?

If its open practice and they actually practice their offense or defense or Ft shooting thats fine. But it shouldn't be open just for entertaining fans. This is a multiBillion dollar tournament with a lot of pressure on a lot of coaches, this is NOT the time to entertain fans with skits or whatever they are doing.

They do actually practice...but from what I have personally seen and then heard about from other teams, they will often make it more fun that normal and give the fans something to cheer about.

i don't understand why coaches would allow an open practice during the tournamenti mean you have 7 possible opponents in same the city
