holler at me if you still need help, i've taken a few bikes apart and made enough repairs to know them pretty good, but i wouldn't classify myself as ducati certified mechanic

^If you were then you'd be a badass, desmodromic-valve-adjusting motherfucker...

i have a friend that works on my bikes. he used to be a master tech at suzuki last year, then decided he hated it at barnett's and quit. so far he put the clutch in on my hawk, readjusted the jets on my gsxr, fixed an electrical prob with the gsxr, and is now putting the r6 back together after my wreck. i would give you his number... but i dont want you hogging his time until i get my r6 back this week.if you're interested pm me though.

I take bikes apart, and end up loosing some pieces in the process and can't put them back together fully. Damnit, where is that blasted faring?

3/15/2006 10:03:36 PM
^^ that was suzuki of sanford, not this guy, he did my clutch in one day on the hawk. he's taking a little longer on the r6 bc he's back loaded from his painters job.yes same guy, im going to hold off on pming his number for about a week, till i get my bike back. he's currently a painter and trying to get a bar painted before it's deadline..so he's kinda busy right now.[Edited on March 15, 2006 at 10:06 PM. i done bunch of seals before, its not too hard. WMVlad007 and me done his seals before so he know how to do it, ha probably can guide you in the right direction.search online for how to do it right, but make sure to check your forklegs for pitting before you do anything else. that can be fixed too, but need to be done while forks are taken apart.here a decent overview of the processhttp://oldmanhonda.com/MC/Rforks.html[Edited on March 15, 2006 at 10:10 PM. oh snap you the dude i emailed about 81 GS parts? you's got the 650 with shaft drive? i tore my gs down pretty much completely (except for the tranny), wasnt too hard. with a clymers, basic set of tools and some common sense you should be allrightbtw my gs was a basket case when i got it myself, but i only had to buy two valves, some valve guides, gaskets and a battery to make it run[Edited on March 15, 2006 at 10:53 PM. atleast I work on my own bikes and yes they are project bikes. F2 is ridden daily as its my commuter bike, Gixxer is still waiting on parts from some dude who is MIA, and the RR... tryin to figure out how to drop the engine without a manual. Would prove to be a fun experience when I have to put the bike back together.
3/16/2006 2:20:49 PM
look for the thread i started about manuals. there is a 600rr manual in there on the site that i put up
3/16/2006 3:04:40 PM
why the hell did you even put the r 6 in the shop? bent clutch lever? lol
3/16/2006 3:45:37 PM
i didnt feel like paying another month on the garage that i had, the wiring harness was tore up, swing arm, rear axle bent, throttle and clutch cables wripped apart, carbs broken, gas tank tore up, sub frame destroyoed, random tubes missing, just lil shit like that. oh well it will be perty when it's done.

Atleast the engine survived unlike mine, where as the only damage was the engine and some small things
