i dunno if I'd want him here though. he's definitely not as bad as terrell owens with the attitude, but having both him and steve smith would defintely help. maybe henning could keep him under control.http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/sports/football/nfl/carolina_panthers/14105935.htm

i'm kinda undecided here...good on field, questionable off field...who knows
3/15/2006 3:33:51 PM
he's showing interest in a CHECKhim and steve smith, in my opinion, couldnt exist on the same team, cause i dont see distribution going much to keyshawn seeing as he's spotty as fuck[Edited on March 15, 2006 at 3:35 PM. Reason : .]

Keyshawn could be a great asset to the panthers...but at what cost? I don't know if I can take or would want to put up with his attitude and antics (considering they have not helped him be a great player). But he is an athlete and could be big in the offense...but I am willing to bet he would want all the passes and would cause problems with Smith... III&FH
3/15/2006 3:35:19 PM
^^and he wants to go to a superbowl contender i'm sure i think ANY receiver that came to Carolina would do so knowing full well that Smitty is the #1 receiver]
3/15/2006 3:35:27 PM
steve smith + keyshawn??not too sure about that one
3/15/2006 3:36:12 PM
well they kept him under control in dallasI think with as much as the panthers throw the ball in the first place, this wouldnt be a problem for us. Plus, he might be older and slower, but none of our other receivers past Smith and Prohel can consistently catch balls that hit them in the hands.
3/15/2006 3:37:43 PM
the henning thing kinda makes it a little less riskyif you think about it, paying the money for him would kinda be like paying money to have a complete steve smith, because teams wouldnt be able to concentrate on just him with keyshawn on the opposite side, as they did later this past season with a Drew Carter/Keary Colbert over there
3/15/2006 3:38:25 PM
3/15/2006 3:39:13 PM
yea im not saying they are not good, but teams would not have a hard time deciding on whether to cover them or steve smith

koren already re-signed for 3 more years and 12.7 million with minnesoh-ta
3/15/2006 4:50:47 PM
ah christ i must have missed that about Koren.Well shit... that contract is a little steep for us anyway.Man... i hate keyshawn.10 years in the league and he STILL cant figure out he's nothing more than a glorified possession receiver. We do happen to be in the market for one of those though
3/15/2006 4:55:49 PM
4 million a year is nothin in today's free agency. David Givens and Randal-El both got considerably more than that, and neither reciever approaches KRob physically. There are not a whole lot of decent recievers left out there. There are a couple of RFA's like Nate Burleson, but the only big name UFA's left are Owens and Keyshawn.

Screw it, draft a reciever in the 3rd round. Have Carter work on his hands and make him the 2nd guy, he has great talent, if he didn't drop passes he would be a great #2And maybe Colbert gets out of his sophmore slump.

We need a damn running back that's worth a shit first. If we get a good one and get back to playing Fox ball, when we do need to throw it Steve Smiff will be there. Delhomme is to inconsistant to be able to be haulin passes all the time to two receivers who think they should be catching 10 a game.
3/15/2006 11:05:11 PM
lets get TJ Williams in the 3rd or 4th roundseriously
3/16/2006 2:39:35 AM
no, lets get someone who can catch
3/16/2006 2:42:22 AM
ok lets get Vernon Davis for a TE thenoh wait he will be long gone when Carolina is on the clock in the 1st rounddamn did you know that fucker ran like a 4.39 40 at the draft combine or trial or whatever
3/16/2006 2:45:00 AM
why not say fuck off to keyshawn, all hes gonna do is fuck everything up, and build our own receivers. they have shit tons of potential.
3/16/2006 2:45:28 AM
the panthers have NEVER signed a player with the attitude and discipline problems that Keyshawn supposedly hashell, we cut a top-5 punter, arguably the best in the league, due to things that looked negative to the team's image in Sauerbrunthe Henning ties give it more of a chance than some other similar players but I just don't see ithowever if he had a press conference and explicitly said he:a. knew full well Smith was the #1 guyb. was prepared to be a secondary or tertiary receiver and respect the coaching staffc. admitted he was going to be a possession WR for CarolinaI would give him a shot, but not for too much money, that goes without saying
