They never seemed reliable enough to me, so I only rode them a few times and when I moved off campus it was outside their sphere of influence. True story.

I was riding a Frat Court bus from my apartment to an 8am class 1 year ago, and as the lady was turning onto Dan Allen trying to leave the last Frat House pickup, she ran over one of those huge 8x8 wood posts and one of them actually ended up in the stairwell of the front door!

Glass was everywhere, so we all hadta exit out the backdoor and I was 10 minutes late to a SOC course in Harrleson

My biggest peeve is them engaging the parking brake (like at the gym while waiting) and leaving the bus in Drive. PUT IT IN NEUTRAL!

I hate how Night Service busses are always like 10 minutes behind schedule, don't care, and only come once every ~30 minutes. I get out of a night class 10 minutes after Avent Ferry stops running so I hafta sit outside for half an hour w/ weirdos waiting for the stupid Night Service A bus. Then it drives all over Raleigh and takes forever to get to my apartment. But it's a free ride

Has anyone ever felt like they were in a sitcom on the bus. it seems like i see the same cast of characters on there every now and then. they include:

-the sorority bitch (sometimes more than one)
-the ugly bitch
-the fat bitch that is the type to go to wendy's and order a 3/4 lb. burger with biggie sized fries and a biggie sized diet coke, b/c she believes that having the diet coke is helping her watch her weight
-the fraternity douche with the short khaki shorts (warm weather)/black northface jacket (cold weather) and sunglasses with croakies and boat shoes
-the homeless guy that either sits in the back corner or sits at the front and talks to the driver
-the weird guy
-the emo guy/girl
-the slacker pothead that's bitching about how hard his week ahead is even though he's majoring in something incredibly easy
-the awkwardly cute girl
-the old guy
-a chinese lady with a kid
-some ghetto lady with a kid
-the bitch that's always on her cell phone from the time she gets on till the time she gets off
-and last but not least the incredibly hot dream girl (like when Wayne from Wayne's World hears Dreamweaver when he sees Casandra the first couple of times)

i think my life is starting to feel like a Seinfeld episode

Driver was working on those god forsaken rear doors one day and when he got them to close, the bus took off down the street. Since I didn't want to die I took the wheel and pulled it back into our lane.

This dude walked in front of the bus one day pushing a shopping cart with 2 mattresses and the entire bed. He gets in front of the bus and the whole shit tips over. Again, no one on the bus seemed to care enough to move so I got off and helped him.

I'll think of more. Oh I saw that bus burst into flames last semester.

the friday before Spring Break i was walking up the sidewalk beside the library toward the bus stops outside the library. i see the Centennial bus leaving and run to catch it. i get to it as it's stopping at the light waiting to turn out onto Hillsborough St. i have run and caught it while it was at the light a number of times. i'd knock on the door and the driver would graciously let me on. so i knock on the door. the guy throws his hand up and gives me that "sorry" look. the bus sits there for a few more seconds and turns. i was so pissed off. he could have easily let me on. there was only like 3-4 other people on the bus. i would have been able to quickly find a seat as soon as i stepped onto the bus.

Don't forget the smelly guy. There's always a smelly guy.
And usually a couple black girls conversing loudly with each other.

One time I was on the bus and I heard this girl on her cell phone telling her bf about her gyno. appointment....I think she had an infection of some sort.

i like how there will be a fairly empty bus, and two people a fair distance (6+ ft.) apart having a long conversation, when one of them could just go sit in a seat closer to the other. this way i and everyone else on the bus doesn't have to hear about how Johnny doesn't treat Nicole right.

someone got stuck in the back doors once

the drive wasn't paying attention. they were outside of the bus and the doors caught their backpack (on their back of course)

we all started making noise to tell the drive to open the door and they started driving off

we started flipping out and they finally realized what happened and opened the back doors

Don't even think about disturbing that person's cell phone call... Earlier tonight, the bus driver started asking people where they were getting off (apparently his bus was going out of service soon), and when he got around to this one chick, she ignored him until she noticed that he was asking her a question. Then, she closed her cell phone, and asked why he would ask her such a question (in that "I'm so important" tone)... He told her that the bus was going to be out of service soon, and she just packed her stuff and left, all while the driver tried to explain that he would drop her off where she needed to go.

After the bus left the stop, we saw her walking up the street. The driver slowed down and opened the door to try and let her know that he could drop her off where she wanted, and the chick just stared at him until the driver got weirded out and drove off.

The week after beating UConn, Gavin Grant and Ced Simmons walked on the bus. I tried to start up some applause for them with fellow busriders, but no one joined in, so I stopped.

nah, but ya'll came in and looked real pissed and told me the story. didn't the bus driver get suspended or something?

today while coming back, there were four buses at the Carmichael stop. the fifth bus, which i was on was making the turn, and asked i believe the 4110 bus to move up. response from another bus driver, "there's no one in that bus," which resulted in the bus i was on stopping in the middle of that three way intersection for like 30 seconds, blocking all traffic.

About 3 years ago when I first started using the wolfline I got on the bus through the back door (when the bus was basically full and people were all getting off the front). For some reason I didn't notice the shit saying "exit only." But anyway, the driver went crazy about it and was raising his voice and shit saying, "You need to get off the bus and get back on through the front door."

I attempted to explain that I didn't realize I had come in through an exit and I would not repeat that mistake, but he kept saying I had to fucking get off and get back on in front of like 50 fucking people. So I stepped off and just stood there until he drove away, and I waited for another bus.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if there is some sort of law requiring that or was he just being a major douche about it?

he was being a douche...it's possible I was on that bus you're talking about, because I remember a day the driver went apeshit over someone coming in the backdoor, and made them get off...there wasn't much room on there anyway

well, it is annoying if you're trying to get on a bus that is quite full, and someone hops on through the back exit, being a douche. i wouldn't bitch about it to the full extent that bus driver did, but really.

There is no need for fast idle when the bus has been running for 8 hours!!! And please stop revving the engine before you close the doors and disengage the door safety. Experiencing jerk on the bus isn't fun.

^^^^^keeping it in fast idle prevents the engine from cutting off and it also keeps pressure built. these buses arent the best quality.

I'm pretty sure it was the first time I had used the wolfline, or a bus like that in general, so I'd hardly call that "being a douche." Accidentally getting on through the exit would be more accurate.

it's a liability issue b/c the back doors are hard to control; if they hit the back door to open/close, there's pretty much no way to stop the action like the front door so if someone's trying to get on thru the back, driver can't really see and you get a broken limb.

today. except he made the cut across the throat motion with a "i'm about to go off work" look. wouldn't even open the doors to let me tell him i was gonna be getting off at textiles, which is where there bus goes out of service.

does anyone remember the skinny white guy driver that talked on the intercom the entire time? this was about three years ago, he was funny as hell.

back when there was a king village cent. campus route the had this crazy fella with a scottish cap that drove like he was doing autocross. I think he had it on three wheels one time, a hell of a thrill ride.

Exact same thing happened to me (more than 3 years ago though - more like 6 ). I didn't notice the sign either but I understand the policy. They don't want to accidentally close the door on someone. I think being a jerk about it is pretty much the standard operating procedure.

I guess they feel like you wouldn't pay them any mind or would be more likely to forget if they just politely asked you to not come in the back doors and then left you alone. Being the complete douche by screaming until you leave the bus and come in through the "correct" door pretty much guarantees that you will remember the experience (and rule) forever.

I just rolled my eyes and complied.

The dumb bitch driving the bus I was on one day thought she was driving her car and tried to fit between the curb and a big furniture truck. We hit the sign and it scraped all the way down the bus. She was all upset but all of us on the bus were either saying, "Damn, What the fuck!" or "hahahahahahaahahaha".

whoa. bttt. About 5 of us today just had a near brush with death. Almost got plowed by the wolflink at the stop by Dabney/Cox. We were just standing there and the bus just comes flying up and almost takes us out. He just blew through a couple stops without even thinking. Then we almost take out this black Mustang(think it was a saleen) turning from Sullivan Drive onto Varsity.

I guess I'm the weird guy, since I'm not any of the others.

Also, there's this one driver that usually drives Southeast Loop, I think. He drives like a madman. Taking turns way too fast, slams on the brakes to stop, drives way too fast... there's been a few times when I thought for sure my life would end that day in a fiery bus crash. And while he's nice enough when I get on and say hi, I've seen him honk his horn and yell at pedestrians who weren't walking fast enough for him through crosswalks.

And pyro: good for you for getting out and helping that guy
