Davis is out, and Alford is perfect to go to Indiana.Chaney's leaving, Snyder's gone, Cinci's looking for a new coach. What else is happening?
3/13/2006 10:16:46 AM
Alford may not leave Iowa, he has built a decent program and they did win the Big Ten. I still think he will go though.Cincy I think should give Andy Kennedy more time, he knows what he is doing I think.Prosser to Cincy rumors still out there?
3/13/2006 10:22:14 AM
I would think Prosser coached himself right out of a job offer this season. As a current Wake student, I want his ass out.As a State grad, I want him to stay. He'll drive them right into the ground.

Shit's going down fast.
3/24/2006 10:44:39 AM
and wake still has prosser. HA!
3/24/2006 12:08:41 PM
Yeah i thought some of these programs would wait until the tournament is over but it looks like they are moving aggressively. It should be interesting who Mizzou and Indiania ends up hiring.[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 1:36 PM. Reason : .]

Seton Hall just fired their coach.
3/24/2006 2:36:52 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if some other programs removed thier coaches soon too, should be interesting.
3/24/2006 2:56:23 PM
I'm shocked to see this many transactions going on during the tournament
3/24/2006 3:00:38 PM
schools are rushing around to try and get their guy....
3/24/2006 3:02:47 PM
WHEN WILL WE SEND HERB PACKING?!?
3/24/2006 3:29:35 PM
I don't believe you're going to see it for a while Waluigi
3/24/2006 3:30:26 PM
Pitt's coach Jamie Dixon is leaving for Arizona State. Herb Sendek, with ties to the Pittsburgh area, will be a candidate for the job.
3/24/2006 3:35:43 PM
NO WAY I TALKED TO A RELIABLE SOURCE!
3/24/2006 3:35:59 PM
I've heard from a reliable source that herb may very well be on his way out
3/24/2006 4:11:05 PM
I've talked to a couple of big donors to the WPC down here, and even though they want something done, they're not optimistic that he'll be fired. They said that Herb would be gone only if he decided to leave.I'm not among the ones wanting him fired, I would just like to see a change in offense. We have the speed to run an inside-outside game, we just need to do it.
3/24/2006 4:13:50 PM
Aye! ^ I like herb I just wish he would do some chances to the offense we run now. I'm not fond of the do or die by 3's.
3/24/2006 4:22:04 PM
You guys have shitty sources.Only way Herb is leaving is if he wants to leave. He's not being pushed, asked, or forced to leave. Lee doesn't want him gone and the BIGGEST donors don't want him gone. Only reason he'll leave if he's tired of listening to you dolts continute to bitch and moan about him.But why would he leave here?? If he didn't leave 5 years ago when fans were really calling for his head...why would he leave now?? I'd have to believe that his skin is pretty tough now and that this shit barely bothers him. He's making plenty of money and he won't find a bigger stage than Tobacco Road and the ACC.Wishful thinking.
3/24/2006 4:40:37 PM
^I know you're not talking to me.I just would like to see our speed increase, transition game improve, and work on an inside-outside game that features Ced next year and big, powerful centers from now on. I hate the motion offense. I hate how we rely on the three WAY TOO MUCH. Recruit guys who can create their own shot....
3/24/2006 4:44:59 PM
If Herb abandons his offense, then he is on the fast track to losing his job. Our offense is consistently more efficient then our defense. Defense is where we need the most help. I know Herb's job is safe and everything, I'm just tired of the hate on the offense.

Check the eFG% numbers instead. Also, those scoring offense/defense numbers don't look quite right (it gives the exact same number for both).[Edited on March 24, 2006 at 5:09 PM. Reason : ]

Also check out points per possession:2006: 39th offense, 70th defense2005: 16th offense, 37th defense2004: 3rd offense, 41st defensefrom http://kenpom.com/stats.phpPoints per game reflects on the pace of the game, and FG% does not account for 3's like eFG% that DaveOT mentioned.

Im pretty sure those stats are not right. We are ALWAYS high on the scoring defense list under Herb. But 75 Offensive PPG is not a bad stat.
3/27/2006 1:18:52 AM
plus that scoring offense is sorted by total points scored, not PPG
3/27/2006 8:21:14 AM
^^ they are both right. if you throw-out the cupcakes, the picture becomes worse. Our defense was a joke in conference play. It took teams 5 minutes to figure out that they could score at will inside and blow by atsur on the outsideIt took sendek until the last game to realize for about 10 minutes that in that situation, we just had to outscore our opponents.
3/27/2006 8:46:17 AM
I was so happy to see us play some aggressive reaching defense against Cal...but then that 2-3 matchup came right back.Anyway, though, that's a completely different topic.
3/27/2006 12:18:34 PM
Sorry Stingray, I think this thread does a better job giving a broader scope on all the coaching changes that have occured.Kelvin Sampson to Indiana which now opens up the Oaklohoma job. Did Ok State ever replace Eddie Sutton?http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2387372
3/28/2006 1:47:36 PM
ok state is coached by sutton's son. i think he's been the successor for a while now
3/28/2006 1:50:36 PM
^Yep. Same deal with Bob Knight's son at Texas Tech, I believe.
