The African Student Union (ASU) will be hosting the 3rd Annual African Night, as part of the BSB (UAB) Pan-Afrikan Festival. African Night is an opportunity for ASU to display African culture, history and issues through various forms of art expression. African Night will be held on Monday April 3rd, 2006 in Stewart Theatre at 7:30 pm (Doors open at 7 pm). The 2006 show is themed "You Think You Know but You Have No Idea" and will feature several skits, dance (African, Afro-hip-hop, etc), spoken word, drumming and a fashion show that will illustrate the variety and legacy of African cultures. Moreover, the audience is sure to view "Africa as never seen before." Admission is $5 for students (with college ID) and $7 otherwise. Tickets are already on sale at Ticket Central (919-515-1100). Events like this are usually extremely well planned and well done. I was impressed with the Arabian Nights things they did last year.(Not sure why admission is being charged though ... usually detracts those potentially interested)
