^^ in a perfect world the two would be combined into one huge drunkfest

at tbmf, you bring your own stuff in...anything is allowed to "those over 21" of course as long as there is no glass....it is pretty much a huge drunkfest on its own for those that choose to make it so...
3/12/2006 11:16:33 PM
yep, i won't be attending this yearpoor planning having it on the same day as the Beer Fest

^^ yes, i know, they copied Emerlde Isle when that festival fell apart...kinda surprised they did it though, a BYOB permit tends to be a bitch to get...

TBMF will probably always be on the last Saturday in April..This is the 8th year for this thing. It has become the biggest Beach Music Festival of the year. Emerald Isle has definitely seen a downfall..Taking it off the beach and to the Airport hurt that one.
3/13/2006 9:06:26 AM
so what's your affiliation with the TBMF?
3/13/2006 9:10:42 AM
Internet Promotion for the website. http://www.trianglebeach.com

^^^ no, the owner of the camping grounds it was held on "Finding God" and deciding not to involve himself anymore was what caused the downfall (plus the fact that it barely made money because the cost of the permits and the cost of getting entertainers to actually go to the isle, which is seriously out of the way)[Edited on March 13, 2006 at 10:17 AM. Very few beach music festivals cover their expenses..Most of them will lose money, especially the first few years. There are a lot out there trying to do what Emerald Isle did. Emerald Isle was a lot of fun when it was at the Travel Park. Sounds like you know a lot about that festival and history of the emeral isle beach fest. Are you from that area? I worked a little with the group that did emerald isle last year.If you don't have Chairmen of the Board on the ticket, you will have a hard time making your expenses. They are the biggest draw in Beach Music.

yeah, and apparently they're pricks about it...clarence carter was a better draw anyway... at least for college kids...my dad's has at different times been deep into the beach music scene... so i heard a lot about it... even went to what was (supposed to be) the last Emerald Isle festival...

Cool..well for those of you out there that do not share the same opinion of Beach Music with Joel and Ronny, I know you will have a great time...I hope that you will check it out..You will probably hear a lot about it in the coming weeks..There will be a lot of airplay about the festival on several radio and tv stations in the Triangle.I know that there is a bunch of college students at NC State that love the Chairmen of the Board, evidence of the fact is how many show up at the Longbranch every time they play there. The dance floor is usually packed with students from State.[Edited on March 14, 2006 at 2:01 PM. Reason : typo]
