3/12/2006 1:23:47 PM
I don't support our offense
3/12/2006 1:24:15 PM
i support gavin grant
3/12/2006 1:25:37 PM
Go away Herb
3/12/2006 1:26:34 PM
please resign, Im tired of mediocrity
3/12/2006 1:34:42 PM
I support him as long as he is the coach at this school
3/12/2006 2:39:32 PM
im against insulting him at games and stuff, but i really hope we are searching for a replacement
3/12/2006 2:41:15 PM
Go Herb, support this man 100%but for arguments sakei would love for him to go to another school and win a national championshipeven sweeter if he went to like Duke or UNC and was an assistant coach and wonso the haters could eat fucking crow
3/12/2006 2:57:21 PM
i wouldn't mind them having to eat some crow while he was here
3/12/2006 2:58:26 PM
I too want him to go to another school and win a championship because I believe he can. He's an excellent coach with a sound understanding of the game.He can't win one here because as always, State gets in the way of State. Nobody can be good at this school.
3/12/2006 3:04:33 PM
^^ hahah yea that too
3/12/2006 3:15:41 PM
i do tooin fact, i sent him this email today. not expecting a response, or even for it to get read, but i sent it anyway.
3/12/2006 3:20:24 PM
Go Herb, support this man 100%
3/12/2006 3:23:59 PM
i do
3/12/2006 3:26:08 PM
Go Herb
3/12/2006 3:26:16 PM
I've tried to defend him on this board...yeah
3/12/2006 3:27:32 PM
^^^^^ I sent him something like that last year, and he sent me a card back with in the week. Hand written and everything. I was impressed.[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:27 PM. Reason : ^]
3/12/2006 3:27:34 PM
haha well i didn't leave my address, but that's pretty cool.i think more people should send him supportive emails. sometimes the "fire herb" crowd seems larger than it really is just because they're more vocal about it.
3/12/2006 3:29:20 PM
I wonder how many of you people are going to support him when we lose in the first round of the tournament.and mark my words, chances are that we will.
3/12/2006 3:30:22 PM
I sent mine to Fowler, telling him that I would appreciate it if he passed it on to Herb because I didn't have Herb's email. I basically thanked him and apologized for all the assholes.
3/12/2006 3:30:26 PM
^^
3/12/2006 3:32:53 PM
^^^ Consider them marked.[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:34 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2006 3:32:57 PM
i sit firmly on the fence, but i would NEVER pull against the wolfpack and gloat when we lose like some other people.i really really want herb to succeed but i just dont think it will happen at statebut i hope it does
3/12/2006 3:33:03 PM
he already has succeeded. there is not a single coach that would come to state and win the ncaa title right away like you people want. our program isn't at that level anymore. sendek is in the process of returning it to that level, but many of you don't want to give him the chance.
3/12/2006 3:34:40 PM
Sendek's not returning us anywhere running his patented "Lets heave up 3 pointers" offense. As long as he runs that shit... we're gonna recruit slow unathletic players, get outrebounded, play soft, and be streaky as hell. If he doesn't switch offenses, I hope he leaves. The offense is our achilles heel. Do I think he could be a good coach if he switched into an uptempo, point guard driven offense like he learned from Pitino? No idea. All I do know is that we're going nowhere with the current one[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:38 PM. Reason : ]
3/12/2006 3:37:45 PM
depends on your definition of success, and 10 years is not right away
3/12/2006 3:40:19 PM
actually we're going to the ncaa tournamentfor the 5th straight year^and i didn't say herb did it right away. i'm saying that you want it right away and nobody that would come here could provide trhat. [Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:41 PM. Reason : ]
3/12/2006 3:40:25 PM
yup, only happened one other time in the history of our programyou didnt know me 10 years ago, how could you make a ludicrous statement like that[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:43 PM. Reason : .]
3/12/2006 3:42:49 PM
.... which is completely misleading becuase 64 teams haven't always gotten in
3/12/2006 3:43:43 PM
I support him as well.
3/12/2006 3:44:44 PM
^^very true, but im not tryin to turn this thread into another arguement, mostly because im just playing devils advocate at the moment
3/12/2006 3:45:31 PM
^^^it isn't misleading when you look at the time immediately before sendek arrived and compare it with right now.we weren't good enough to make the field of 64 before he got here.^take your devil's advocate bullshit to another thread then.[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:47 PM. Reason : ]
3/12/2006 3:46:18 PM
I support him too, Mr Grace!
3/12/2006 3:47:26 PM
You simply cannot equate NC State's expectations on the Les Robinson years. Herb has leeway considering where he started, but a sweet 16 and 5 NCAA appearances (All as bubble teams.... yes, we have become a bubble team this year) isn't exceptional in a decade. With his recruiting prowess we should have been better a long time ago.... and still be climbing. The same mistakes plague us every year[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:50 PM. Reason : ]
3/12/2006 3:48:45 PM
i just enjoy pointing out logical infallacies
3/12/2006 3:49:47 PM
a bubble team implies that people think we aren't going to make it in. we are not in that situation this year.
3/12/2006 3:49:48 PM
we're close. We're certainly not as impressive as we were midseason
3/12/2006 3:50:46 PM
it would be different if you took his 5 ncaa appearances and staggered them every other year within his 10 year tenure. that would show that it was inconsistant, and it would not be encouraging at all.instead, he has gradually built up the program year by year. first he made the NIT, and then he continued to progress and got the team to the NCAA's. He changed the offense to get us to the level we're at now. What reason do you have to believe that he wouldn't change it again to reach another level.Plus, we get great recruits that WANT to play our offense.^yeah but we still aren't a bubble team. people are discussing whether we will be a 7, 8, or 9-seed. not "gee i don't know if they'll be in this year"get a fucking clue[Edited on March 12, 2006 at 3:52 PM. Reason : ]
3/12/2006 3:51:43 PM
i've heard no one refer to our team as a "bubble team" all season. not even recently. sure we're not playing like a contender the past few weeks, but we're definitely going to the dance based on our earlier performance.
3/12/2006 3:51:51 PM
yeah, we are definitely not a bubble team this year.i'll give you the other 4 though
3/12/2006 3:53:11 PM
I'll give you 3 out of 5
3/12/2006 3:53:35 PM
i've stated that if last years team played their way in based on one win against a chris paul-less wake forest then this team has played their way out with this late season collapsebut we are not a bubble team, it will be a sad day in basketball win a 10 win team in the acc is a bubble team
3/12/2006 3:53:49 PM
^you're an idiot.yeah we played our way in last year from the position we were in at the time. that position was "on the bubble"if you're "on the bubble" then yes you can play your way in and you can play your way out. we were not on the bubble at any point this year, so this is not true for us.
3/12/2006 3:56:43 PM
actaully if you think this team is playing like a tournament team right NOW, then you would be the idiot
3/12/2006 3:57:58 PM
Okay, "bubble team" may have been pushing it. Put it this way, we were lucky we collapsed so late. A game or two earlier, we might not have made the tournament.
3/12/2006 3:58:07 PM
the year hodge came in was the first year he switched to this "bullshit offense" so what are you talking about
3/12/2006 4:00:24 PM
maybe ev's departure and the rise of fells/simmons/grant will push us in the right direction. we can hope.
