The bonus features are fucking hilarious, even more so than the Fight Club ones. Definately take a look at them if you own the DVD. I've had a few beers but these guys are awesome in the commentary, and I like the way the director talks. He takes the perspective of the audience. On the serious note:KISS ME FAT BOY!

It's SUPPOSED to be supernatural... Still freaks me out though.
3/9/2006 9:27:26 PM
it is an ok movie, the book scared the shit out of me when I was little.
3/9/2006 9:28:18 PM
I was about 10 when I read it and didn't get the ending, so now I've gotta go back all over it again. Something about a spider. I don't know how close the movie is to it.
3/9/2006 9:32:34 PM
they aren't all that close, the book is over a 1000 pages though I think.Maybe closer to 950.why hasn't this been moved yet?[Edited on March 9, 2006 at 9:40 PM. Reason : ]

3/10/2006 1:04:22 PM
the kubrick shining or the tv shining?cuz of course tv movies (such as It) are gonna be campy and cheesy
3/10/2006 1:10:12 PM
the one with Jackabsolutely horrible film
3/10/2006 1:22:18 PM
i guess i'd be in the minority if i said this was probably the scariest movie i've ever seen for the time i saw it?
3/10/2006 1:33:07 PM
fair enough...i acutally agree that most of his movies are bad 'films'my favorites are maximum overdrive and lawnmower man (even though lawnmower man had nothing to do w/ his story)they are so cheesy it is greatand i think the first Children of the corn is sort of a cult classic but i have never actually seen itand stand by me is a classic on its own
3/10/2006 1:36:17 PM
i never saw lawnmower manbut i played the shit out of the SNES version
3/10/2006 1:40:54 PM
its hard to understand what "It" is all about unless you read all/most of the other books
3/10/2006 2:32:22 PM
I wonder if they are gonna make a movie out of the dark tower series. If they do, it will have to span several movies, because there's no way they could condense that into one, or even two moviesIf they did do the dark tower though, I hope they'll get some big budget directors, instead of the shit that King usually goes with
3/12/2006 11:10:46 AM
I would love a new version of The Stand mini-series. I'm re-reading the book and it's reminding me how awesome that story is. The cheesey parts in the original could look much better with today's technology. The whole thing could be really slick and creepy.
3/12/2006 12:29:15 PM
^^I don't think there's any way you could have a movie series do justice to the Dark Tower series. For one thing, you're dealing with a total of well over 3000 pages when you sum up all seven books.
3/12/2006 12:57:55 PM
Hell, maybe a ten-year long span or something. There's so much material.
3/13/2006 12:43:14 PM
yea i dont think anything could do it justicebut i would be happy with a movie version of just the gunslinger. it would require little to no CGI and could really stand alone, IMO. it was meant to be stand alone in the first place. i think clint eastwood would be perfect for the old, worn out wanderer.i sat here for 5 minutes and couldnt come up w/ a man in black. Gary oldman maybe?someone who is evil w/out trying and who would look slightly out of place in a cowboy hat.maybe even kevin bacon, he cant be doing anything and he was good as evil in Sleepersbut i actually like The Stand miniseries. i dont need the stand to be 'creepy' thats not what it's about. granted the RF w/ the devil horns was really cheesy but i liked it for the most part.
3/13/2006 2:39:59 PM
I don't think getting big actors to play the roles would be difficult because, hey, it's Stephen King, who wouldn't want to star in something like that? It's just that Clint is too much into direction now - albeit a compatible style to something that would fit in King's world - someone like Bacom would be more realistic maybe?
3/13/2006 4:17:47 PM
eastwood's performance in unforgiven would basically be PERFECT for the gunslinger IMO.old worn out cowboy that can still handle his shit when he wants to.and the more i think about it, the more i am settling on oldman for the man in black
3/13/2006 5:17:54 PM
clint's too old to play rolandthink about itif they did make all the books into movies then clint would have to age another 10 years at the end of The Gunslinger. he's already 60 something, and looks it. so either he would look 60 in DT1 then look 70 for the rest of the series or apply makeup to make him look ~50 then no makeup for the rest so he looks 60.i don't think there's a makeup artist on this planet that could pull that off without making it look fake as hell.i don't think roland was more than 40s - 50s in the series, at least how i pictured him.[Edited on March 13, 2006 at 7:55 PM. 3/13/2006 7:53:41 PM
yea i guess now you are probably rightbut i still think his Unforgiven character was Roland to a T
3/13/2006 9:38:58 PM
How much you want to bet they could pull that off without a hitch? Might be a little painful for Clint though.
3/14/2006 12:53:03 AM
making someone look older and doing a good job of it is easy, because the extra skin of the prostetics (sp) adds to the look.making someone look younger doesn't work as easily.
