where are all the naive fools who swore Bonds was innocent now?
3/7/2006 1:49:41 PM
There is a difference between swearing someone is innocent and saying you cannot justly assume someone is guilty with nothing more than circumstantial evidence.
3/7/2006 1:51:27 PM
^^ You misunderstood those peoples points from the beginning so it's no surprise you still do.I was NOT in favor of penalizing him (i.e.- * record / no HOF) unless we had concrete, real evidence he used DURING his big years. If what this says is true then I'm right there with you...[Edited on March 7, 2006 at 1:52 PM. Reason : f]

hahahahaso theres still people that want to see hard factual evidence...oh man if you saw him shooting steroids into his biceps at home plate on national tv you'd find some way to justify it
3/7/2006 1:57:37 PM
Rome was talking about this on his show today. Pretty blunt stuff. Bonds = garbage
3/7/2006 1:59:25 PM
This is America. You can't punish people based on hunches and thoughts. You're missing the point. It isn't about whether or not we think or know he used. We all KNOW he did. You simply can't punish him without proof, just like in any other case..You're not a moron so I'm sure you're just being difficult because this concept isn't hard to grasp.

he's screwed - he'll be waiting as long as pete rose for the HOF - i bet he retires almost immediately
3/7/2006 2:05:43 PM
i hope he actually keeps playing until he breaks the record...just to cause chaos.
3/7/2006 2:06:30 PM
^YEAH FROM ALL THE STUFF I HAVE HEARD TODAY IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD FOR BARROID!!
3/7/2006 2:06:55 PM
Barroid - good one. Rafael Palmeroid is my favorite. I really, really hope he does not break Hank's record. Aaron is one of the great sports figures in history (IMO) and I'd hate for a shit canister like Bonds to replace him at the top of the greatest record in sports (again IMO).
3/7/2006 2:10:13 PM
All he really cared about was passing whitey anyways.
3/7/2006 2:16:38 PM
NyM410 I would completely agree with you if this were a criminal trial or something...about innocent until proven guilty...but its not...everybody knows he juiced for awhile...I'm far from the only person who had seen all I needed to about Bonds years ago to know he was roided
3/7/2006 2:22:28 PM
God, I almost can't wait for when Bonds will be eligible for the Hall of Fame. All the talk and ranting and articles will be even better than what goes on now.
3/7/2006 2:22:29 PM
His HOF chances are gone....long live Hank aaron and the babe.By the way it was quoted from federal documents that he testified before a grand jury to using the substances, but he said he didn't know what they were......RIIIIIIIGHT Good thing the immunity didn't cover perjury.

james bond used steroids??
3/7/2006 4:24:45 PM
I still do not believe this book is going to change anything. It still will not provide concrete proof that he indeed used the steroids. I believe he used them, and I believe a lot of the players were using them a few years ago, but you have to have concrete proof to add an '*' to the record books and/or bar him from the HoF.It's sad really, even before he got "buff" he was an all-star and put up pretty good numbers. He wouldn't have broken any of the records but he'd still have been HoF worthy and a long-time all-star.
3/7/2006 6:05:47 PM
Barry Bonds' biggest crime is that in a time when everyone did steroids, he happened to be an asshole.
3/7/2006 6:23:15 PM
^^
3/7/2006 6:39:42 PM
this book wont change anything. everybody already knew before this book that he was on roids and this book still does not give an officially cited source that baseball could use against him. yeah, grand jury testimony is pretty official, but not the way its coming out in the public.bonds would have made the hof anyways, and as far as the record books, no one is gonna forget anytime soon that he used steriods. asterick or not, his records will always be questioned. i think that alone cheapens his achievements.
3/7/2006 7:27:16 PM
You'd think that a sport full of drug addicts would be more exciting...
3/7/2006 8:00:05 PM
3/7/2006 8:06:32 PM
You could knock me over with a feather. Surely, this is unfounded hate speech against the greatest player of all time!
3/7/2006 8:22:06 PM
^^^ hahahah excellent point
3/7/2006 11:54:54 PM
I said you'd have to have proof to BAR him from the HoF, meaning, not allow him to be included in any vote. And you're right, the media has definitely made everyone aware of the idea that he uses steroids, so I don't expect many of the voters to vote in his favor, but at least he'd be allowed to be voted in.
