one of my dogs is about due for a rabbies vaccine.
I looked on wakecounties site and the only rabies clinic that they know of isn't until the end of April... It's probably not a good idea for me to wait that long since i take them to the dog park every day.
Does anyone know of a cheap place to get a rabbies vaccine?

the most i've ever seen a rabies shot cost was $9 at glenwood animal hospital. they're not that expensive. just go to the vet.

I don't see a vet just offering to give your dog a rabies shot unless you've had the dog examined there. So you'd have to go to the place you've had the dog examined, or else if you haven't done so, you'd be looking at around $30-40 for the physical and then ~$20 or so for the office visit I believe...

your dog should have a regular vet anyway.

^^If you take the dogs papers from the last shot he received, its not a problem.

you can wait til april...its not that big of a deal...the vaccine has a life span of 3 years or thats when you are suppose to get it for your dog but it really is good for about 6 months after that...they just want to make sure your dog is always covered and an extra month is gonna hurt him

^ Unless he gets hurt or bites someone.

To my understanding they'll gladly destroy a dog even if the vacinne is "technically" still good, if it's out of date.

hmm... well, I guess i need her distemper too... I wish I had gotten them the last time I had an office visit. I called my vet and I have to have an office visit with the distemper (Which my trainer told me I should do every other year anyhow due to the fact that we're obsessed with over vaccinating our pets), and the office visit is now almost $40!!
But, i already posted awhile back as to where people take their pets... I might go look at that again. I just really like my doctor, but i don't want to pay that much right now.

I always give my dogs their DHLPP myself. You can buy it at about any feed store. It's like $10.

I work at Magnolia Animal Hospital off of Capital. In my opinion we have the most reasonable prices in North Raleigh! I know our office visits aren't more than $32. I think the rabies vaccine is $14 something and disptemer $16.00. I can give you a 10% discount card if you'd like!

At Mayfair Animal Hospital we don't require an exam with the rabies shot, rabies shots are required by law and we don't want people skipping out on them just because they don't want to pay for or can't afford an exam. BUT, our rabies vax is ~25 bucks. We are in cary though, so find a Raleigh vet with the same policy and it'll be cheaper.

Just a little more info, New patient visits are 59 bucks, but after that exams are 40 bucks and we do not charge a seperate office visit, so if your vaccine does not require an exam all you pay is the vaccine charge.

if you go to a banfield during "wellness hours" there is no office fee, just a fee for the vaccination. You may have to wait awhile though.
