Fun times in Denver! The rental is ours. It was a Buick la Sabre (however it is spelled). Lucky for us. Gunboats are good in wrecks. Not a scratch. Just some sore necks. Basically:A Ford Ranger had slammed into the retaining wall (later found out he was drunk). The driver and some other guy was out of the truck walking around. Cody couldn't get over so he slowed and stopped to avoid hitting the truck and/or people. The Honda behind him slowed and stopped. The Dodge was slowing. The MB wasn't paying any attention and doing like 80+. The MB first hit the Dodge which sent it around to the right and he ended up hitting the Ranger. The MB then hit the Honda, which sent her into the rental. Basically, her car pivoted around the Buick. She was hurt really badly. You couldn't put your hand between her back seat and her front. After hitting the Honda, the MB then bounced pass and swiped the Buick. Later found out he was on a cell phone. Police said Cody's car basically kept the people by the Ranger from getting killed. No fault. In fact they are using all the pics he took to get the MB driver. The MB was the only one without rear end damage. The buick was the only one without front end. Yay.[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 10:15 AM. Reason : er]

remember mercedes and bmw always have the right of way. always.
3/6/2006 10:30:32 AM
haha i guess he thought so. will say tho that the mercedes held up remarkably well. he got out without a scratch and the cabin was fully intact. very impressive imo considering the havoc on the outside.

damn, thats the new CLS 55 AMGgood that you are ok. cars are replacable.
3/6/2006 10:41:45 AM
no pics of the dodge? glad your safe. What does your rental car company say?
3/6/2006 11:22:39 AM
not with me. it was beaten up pretty badly but nothing like the honda or the front end of the mb. not much the rental company can say. wasn't cody's fault. the company he was interviewing with arranged the car rental and had rental insurance on it so it won't even hit our insurance.

gotta give the buick some credit. i rented one while traveling and while it handled like a boat, it got good mileage and was very quiet - also the cabin was solid.it was rather uncomfortable (ergonomics and all that) and riding in the back seat gave you motion sickness tho.glad you were safe.

Damn , thats some carnage. Glad ya made it out in one piece.

My grandma's destroyed a couple of buicks in the last 6 years. Both looked like fatal wrecks but she's A-OK. They're pretty tough.

This is why cell phones and cars are a bad combination.(says the guy who was talking on one while driving a big-ass box truck earlier...)Pay attention to the damn road, people. Myself included.Queti, glad you're OK.
