17k and still going strong, might as well wait till 20. damn i love mobil 1
3/3/2006 12:51:54 PM
my ram has had 3 oil changes and 1 oil pump in it's life. ~70k miles. regular whatever is the cheapest dino oil.
3/3/2006 12:55:40 PM
i'm about 1,000 + over at the moment
3/3/2006 12:56:30 PM
i think i went like 10K on my civic once. not sure what the current is now. probably like 7 or so
3/3/2006 12:59:37 PM
i cant count how many vehicles have some in the shop for an oil change 20-30k over with not a damn drop in the pan, hondas seem to handle running with nothing better than others
3/3/2006 6:06:12 PM
i went 15k in the rover last time. didnt seem to matter
3/3/2006 6:09:45 PM
1000 over is a relative term.I've gone no more than about 9000 miles and no less than 7000 mile in cars with no less than 160000 miles[Edited on March 3, 2006 at 7:18 PM. Reason : a]

3/3/2006 7:20:38 PM
the sad thing is, you could be buying a nice looking used car that's been run like some of the ones mentioned in this thread.
3/3/2006 10:11:59 PM
I'm only at 5300
3/3/2006 10:21:42 PM
im probably around 5k or 6k
3/4/2006 12:37:14 PM
i got one last may when i got my car inspected
3/4/2006 12:43:44 PM
my camry is at about 6k since it's last changed, still running strong. I probably need to change it next week though.
3/4/2006 1:06:31 PM
longest i've ever gone was at the last interval on my S2000. I let it go to 6500 miles (but the factory specified interval is 7000, AND I was running Mobil 1).
3/4/2006 2:19:32 PM
Never more than 3500 at a time. Shit burns up in my engine.
3/4/2006 2:37:16 PM
this thread has reminded me that I need to change my oil.
3/4/2006 2:47:57 PM
Currently I'm about 100 over. By the time I get home tomorrow it'll be well over 500.
3/4/2006 3:17:40 PM
i'm not even close on the car with m1, but i'm prob. 1k over on the car with maxlife. who cares though, honda's last forever!
3/4/2006 3:23:47 PM
I start noticing things getting sluggish around 3k, so I change it then.
3/4/2006 3:57:28 PM
i change mine early, even with mobil one. i mean theres no reason to be so goddam cheap about it kids.
3/4/2006 4:11:46 PM
I do it every 4500 miles since my engine is about 10 years old.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 4:26 PM. Reason : .]
3/4/2006 4:23:03 PM
^^ with mobil 1 and a wix filter, my oil change runs bout $70, that shit aint cheap
3/4/2006 4:30:59 PM
shut the fuck up. last place that you should be concerned about buildup is the damn dipstickand 70 is cheap bitch. step up.
3/4/2006 5:21:44 PM
first thing and easiest to check you tardjust because you buy shit that craps out engines every 2,000 miles doesnt mean everyone else should[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 5:49 PM. Reason : ]
3/4/2006 5:48:25 PM
I got mine changed today at Meineke and I got my car inspected. They tried to charge me $8 for a burned out blub. Is this the average fee?
3/4/2006 6:10:02 PM
my plan is oil (amsoil euro) ever 10k and filters every 3,3k. i'll test at 5k and 10k to keep an eye on it.ppl change their synthetic oil way too often
3/4/2006 6:44:30 PM
I redline my engine very often, and changing the oil is therapeutic for me.I HAVE to do it every 3000 for my warranty anyways.
3/4/2006 7:20:24 PM
^def. a good idea with that motor
3/4/2006 7:24:11 PM
Everytime I floor it, I'm like "there goes another quart!"
3/4/2006 8:52:38 PM
that reminds me of this mustang that was in front of me on the highway one time.after about ten minutes there was a nice oily film on my windshield from his exhaust.
3/4/2006 8:59:37 PM
I didn't think about changing the oil in the Beretta until ~12k miles had passed...it's been nice to me since hahaha.
3/4/2006 9:09:17 PM
i change my oil every 3000-3500 miles. I am meticulous about it on the jeep since it burns oil and i always check to make sure there is a good amount every 1000 miles or so. plus i like changing my own oil in the parking area while enjoying a beer.
3/4/2006 9:32:57 PM
what are the consequences of not changing oil?
3/4/2006 9:52:56 PM
3/4/2006 10:23:15 PM
3/5/2006 1:56:53 AM
oil changes are overrated!
3/5/2006 2:03:41 AM
Every 6 months or so...dont really keep up with the mileage
3/5/2006 9:11:10 AM
^^^ try complete engine failure, once the oil drain holes plug up, whats left of the sludge stays in the valve cover, and your pump runs dry[Edited on March 5, 2006 at 9:12 AM. Reason : penis]
3/5/2006 9:11:57 AM
Eh, I'm I think 300 miles past 3k. Imma just wait until friday.
3/5/2006 11:08:31 AM
if you have an old rotary, just keep the oil filled up and change the fiter every 6 months.
3/5/2006 1:22:05 PM
every 3 mos/3k is a good plan for people who don't look at their dipsticks.i used to do that, but now i know better. 5k is the norm on good non-synthetic.
3/5/2006 9:05:11 PM
i usually go about 4 or 5k between changes.
3/6/2006 11:09:04 AM
go about 10k on mobil 1
3/6/2006 1:43:13 PM
