3/3/2006 11:14:26 AM

3/7/2006 7:21:43 AM
might be interested, why are you selling it?
3/7/2006 1:34:08 PM
Selling it for a friend who lost his shop. He had just bought the welder a week before he was evicted. I have been storing it @ my house and he told me just to sell it because he wasnt going to try and start another shop. My roomate worked for him when the welder was bought and was there when it closed. It was used twice by my roommate and worked fine. Its like just like new and has a full spool of wire already loaded. Come on over and check it out.

Thermadyne is the parent company Victor is the sub and firepower is the brand name. Thermadyne is really nice high end stuff http://www.thermadyne.com/firepower/And this would have no problem at all doing frame work[Edited on March 7, 2006 at 5:26 PM. I want it, but I have a hard time justifying buying it. I am working a co-op in VA right now and live in an apartment complex. Don't know where I will live while in raleigh over the summer, and dont know where I will live when I come back to VA in the fall. I could take it to my parents and leave it in my dad's shop, but then I would never use it.I'll think about it and get back to you this weekend or next week. Of course that assuming you don't sell it between now and then. But if you do, you do.
3/8/2006 1:21:17 PM
that's the good thing about a 110, you can use one about anywhere as long as you've got a plug nearby or a decent extension cord.
3/8/2006 1:54:04 PM
this is on my short list of shit to buy

3/9/2006 12:00:34 AM
How much is the gas bottle?
3/9/2006 12:33:47 AM
it depends on how big you get it, and if you get a new bottle, what gas mix, etc.
3/9/2006 1:28:02 AM
^ what he said
3/9/2006 7:05:56 AM
I'm a welder n00b...Can you give me a rough estimate for a mid-sized bottle and gas? Just have a few welding projects that I wouldn't mind doing myself to pick up a new skill. For example, I need to weld a new coupler onto my utility trailer. It's 1/8" steel.
3/9/2006 12:20:33 PM
Well you don't really need the gas, atleast not with this welder.[Edited on March 9, 2006 at 12:54 PM. Reason : ]
3/9/2006 12:53:52 PM
The gas is just to shield stuff in the air from reacting with the exposed metal during the weld, right?
3/9/2006 1:19:32 PM
you could use flux core wire, and have no need for gas. it works just fine, solid wire with gas just makes a nicer weld. flux core is better for outside use (wind) and if you're welding less than clean metal (dirt, rust, grease). when using solid wire and gas, the metal needs to be really clean/bare to get proper penetration.
3/9/2006 4:16:36 PM
3/9/2006 5:31:16 PM
I believe it has flux wire on it. I would have to check
3/9/2006 6:52:40 PM
Plz do. I'm seriously considering this. Got a garage coming next month and I could just hold it until then.
3/9/2006 7:59:00 PM
It has solid wire on it. Just went out and hooked up my bottle to it and it worked great. A spool of flux wire is only a few bucks $5-10. Sale pending
3/10/2006 8:50:40 PM
SOLD! Thanks hondaguy
