to be fair thoughthese soldiers read stars and stripes. When my brother and his ship called it PravadaStars and Stripes: It's not news, it's disinformation
2/28/2006 2:36:50 PM
i wonder what percent of those 85% are bush supporters
2/28/2006 2:37:20 PM
darwinism at work!
2/28/2006 2:46:27 PM
This is sad.
2/28/2006 2:52:26 PM
2/28/2006 2:54:31 PM
I'm wondering what percentage of Australian troops are dumber than dirt.
2/28/2006 3:01:13 PM
respect the moronic troops!!!
2/28/2006 3:04:12 PM
I just want everybody to know that I support our white troops.
2/28/2006 3:05:54 PM
This is depressing. And way to be a dick, hempster
2/28/2006 3:07:23 PM
It's great we've got all this cheap oil now.
2/28/2006 3:08:10 PM
hey, they might believe that that is the "reason for the war"...but they dont have to be agreeing with that reason
2/28/2006 3:49:22 PM
hey its another one of JerryGarcia's thread in which he bashes Bush and the war, and all his liberal hippy friends joining in on the circle jerk.
2/28/2006 4:08:36 PM
gg on responding to the content of the thread instead of resorting to personal attacks.
2/28/2006 4:11:18 PM
hey its another one of BigPapa's posts where he says something stupid and someone calls him on it
2/28/2006 4:16:24 PM
I meant to call JerryGarcia a dick in my last post. I confused him with hempster.Eh.
2/28/2006 4:28:15 PM
Hey, 42% said the mission wasn't clear to them. No wonder so many have it so fucked up.
2/28/2006 4:29:26 PM
hey its another one of JerryGarcia's thread in which he bashes Bush and the war the entire US military
2/28/2006 4:35:50 PM
I cannot speak to the experience of actually being there, but I wouldn't blame any of them for not even wanting to know the reasons or believing whatever it is that helps them get through it.Maybe some good will come of this thread. Maybe it will cause people to stop and think about sacrifices our troops make for us.
2/28/2006 10:06:49 PM
They make sacrifices for a paycheck, make no mistake about it.
2/28/2006 10:08:47 PM
Well some soldiers aren't interested in the politics just as long as they are serving the country. Whether we like it or not these certain men and or women are important assets. For instance, a person may feel the need to enlist because it's in their blood. To them it's their innate profession, something that their father and forefathers did. A true warrior by trade is what i'm trying to say.
2/28/2006 10:15:30 PM
i wish you would say something like that to any soldier/marine/sailor/airdale that has spent time over there...its easy to spit your bullshit on a message board, you lil bitchET3United States NavyNWS Charleston, SC
2/28/2006 10:33:19 PM
Please. Pay them half, then we'll see what's what. Let's face facts: it's a job. It's a job with almost no barriers to entry -- anyone can do it, and it requires almost no creativity. The government uses all this other "sacrifice" and honor propaganda so that it can pay soldiers less, and soldiers gladly accept this in lieu of payment. If these soldiers believed they could do better for themselves, they would simply do something else. It's a matter of economics and how well people think they can do for themselves.^ a perfect example of the non monetary benefits military folks get for themselves -- you can act like an asshole, and people won't call you on it[Edited on February 28, 2006 at 10:38 PM. Reason : sdf]
2/28/2006 10:34:38 PM
of course not all people feel the same way you dohalf of my family is in the navy, and most of them think the war is a farce
2/28/2006 10:35:42 PM
I'M GOING TO SAY SOMETHING CONTROVERSIAL.IS ANYONE SURPRISED THAT THE SAME DUMB FUCKS WHO SIGNED UP FOR WAR ARE, IN FACT, DUMB?[Edited on February 28, 2006 at 10:51 PM. Reason : sss]
2/28/2006 10:49:53 PM
2/28/2006 10:56:30 PM
Actually, they might be smarter than JerryGarcia thinks >.>
2/28/2006 11:27:30 PM
I feel absolutely certain that the dumbest, most ridiculously uneducated Gomer Pyle E1 in the United States military would look like Albert Fucking Einstein compared to JerryGarcia.
2/28/2006 11:37:43 PM
3/1/2006 3:59:37 PM
Honestly, I'd imagine most of them don't like what they have to deal with over there and don't necessarily give a fuck about the "mission." I'm sure most of them just want to get out of there alive.Just stfu dude.
3/1/2006 4:11:24 PM
Looking at my previous comment about US soldiers and the reply I was later on to recieve by a sailor of the Navy I was quite preturbed. My initial reaction was of anger but now I see that this is a very emotional topic, especially for current recruits. What it should have read is this.
3/1/2006 4:23:53 PM
yes... allow them empathy
3/1/2006 5:44:10 PM
why shouldn't we?Those men may have seen their whole community get wiped out, what do we know. Empathizing with people locked in deadly conflict is one way of understanding those conflicts, which is vital to solving the conflict in the end.[Edited on March 1, 2006 at 7:59 PM. Reason : .]
3/1/2006 7:58:51 PM
Erm, if I read the picture correctly, those soldiers were the ones doing the wiping.
3/1/2006 9:17:58 PM
Unfortunately that case may be so....Thats third world countries for you...beyond the year 2000.For the U.S. to be in the same boat as these guys (rocking the machete) as viewed by the rest of the world is well..kinda pathetic really
3/1/2006 9:38:35 PM
It might help to note that 85% of all of america is dumb as dirt too
3/1/2006 9:40:07 PM
I dont doubt that at all. The public education in this state alone is repulsive.
3/1/2006 10:28:56 PM
not like NC is the US's top high school system though.
3/2/2006 9:39:16 AM
"I don't understand," said Kassad, his voice tight, "but soldiers rarely understand the political situation." He leaned forward, kissed the surprised Moneta, and removed her red scarf. "I love you," he said as he tied the bit of cloth to the barrel of his assult rifle. Telltales showed that half his pulse charge and ammunition remained.Fedmahn Kassad strode forward five paces, turned his back on the Shrike, raised his arms to the people, still silent on the hillside, and shouted, "For liberty!"Three thousand voices cried back, "For liberty!" The roar did not end with the final word.

3/3/2006 8:25:51 PM
Ok lets just glaze over the fact we're talking about soldiers here and pay attetion to whatever you want to bitch about. When I say thats "third world countries for you" i'm talking about the precence of random people walking around with machine guns and machetes. I.E. Africa and any other war torn area with a poor economy. And excuse me that I didn't already know when your uncaptioned picture took place. By the way how does colonialism change anything. If it's a conflict it's a fucking conflict.
3/3/2006 9:54:44 PM
there ain't no oil there mr. president
3/4/2006 12:42:36 AM
and the oil they need isn't going to be reduced by our sharing of nuclear materials with them...not unless we're selling them nuclear cars, too
3/4/2006 12:58:58 AM
^^^ the conflict developed based on arbitrary cultural divisions established by the Belgian colonial governmentread up on it... I doubt you will, but I feel obligated to at least suggest you know what you're talking about[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 12:59 AM. Reason : -]
3/4/2006 12:59:40 AM
In other words it's another set em up and leave them high and dry colonization similiar to many of the other numerous tribal conflicts in africa. (South Africa, Rwanda, Congo, Mozambique, Somalia, etc, etc.) How does this correlate to us my friend...Because abitrary cultural divisions is one of the main reason Iraq isn't coming along quite so nicely. That is why it is important to learn all the sects and groups whether it be religious or economic class, their motivations and their attitudes towards one another. Maybe if we had planned a more diplomatic abitrary solution to the toppling of Saddam then maybe we wouldn't be in such an abysmal pile of shit right now in the middle east. That is where my comment about empathy comes in.See, we learn something new everyday.[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 1:57 AM. Reason : -}]
3/4/2006 1:51:35 AM
I haven't learned anythingand it "correlates" to us because we are a neo-colonial power[Edited on March 4, 2006 at 2:14 AM. Reason : -]
