2/27/2006 8:44:41 PM
MOSS IS GONNA GET YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2/27/2006 8:51:14 PM

2/27/2006 9:08:39 PM
aha, you can't figure out fortran
2/27/2006 9:15:37 PM
I know how to do it. What problem are you having? Tell me and I can help you learn. You know, that thing you try to do when you're not cheating.
2/27/2006 9:32:44 PM
I thought it was called OWL.... maybe it's MOSS... whatever

Yes, I know how to do that shit. Thanks for asking.

Good grief, what is up with kids these days.Complaining about how hard classes like E 115 & CSC 200 are
2/28/2006 10:27:53 AM
open (unit=you, filename='are screwed', status='unknown', action='report cheater')at least don't post about in on the internet.[Edited on February 28, 2006 at 11:13 AM. Reason : I suck at fortran]
2/28/2006 11:10:52 AM
i asked for help not for cheating you moron. and drop it, it was due this morning[Edited on February 28, 2006 at 2:08 PM. Reason : ]

I am a fortran TA. My office hours are Thursdays 1:15-3:15pm in DAN 226. You are welcome to come to my office hours and I will answer any questions you have. If you have a class conflict at that time, send me an email at dfyaghou@ncsu.edu and I will be more then happy to set up a time to meet you and help you out with whatever you need.
2/28/2006 2:16:54 PM
Only when it comes to CSC, asking other students for help considered cheating.
2/28/2006 5:25:06 PM
^Please don't bring up that topic again. It's been beaten to death several times over already. You try emailing the TA list? I know CSC116 has an email list that every TA gets a copy of ... not sure about 112.

anyone know how to do this shit or does anyone have it?
12/20/2015 12:27:27 AM
This language is gonna make a comeback. Just wait and see.
12/20/2015 6:46:29 PM
I feel that I am developing Stockholm syndrome with fortran
12/20/2015 10:42:36 PM
This class was invaluable
12/21/2015 10:52:47 AM
One of the main reasons I was hired was because of my fortran knowledge! It is still a very useful tool for teaching the basics of programming to someone who doesn't have any experience.
1/4/2016 1:35:17 PM
i remembered my TA didnt bathe and smells like what you would expect. I cant stand his hygene and was not very helpful either. SO I had to drop the class.

^^ In what industry do you work? I had to take fortran because I was Engineering (Undecided) freshman year and already had credits for most of the 1st year shit. When I matriculated (btw what a cool word), everyone in ECE laughed @ me because of how useless Fortran was.I really can't think of any reason why Fortran would be useful outside of Military/NASA type shit where they're still using shit from the 50s...[Edited on January 4, 2016 at 5:45 PM. As an ME, I know I would have been way better off spending my time learning how to use MATLAB instead of fucking FORTRAN.
1/5/2016 9:45:48 AM
yes, Fortran is very useful in industry but focus should be on matlab. But isn't that what everyone is doing in school now? learning one "real" programming language (fortran, java,c++) then doing all the course work in matlab?
1/5/2016 3:56:16 PM
why
1/5/2016 4:50:24 PM
Because you have a better chance of finding a job if you know a programing language that was released after JFK was assassinated..? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_programming_languages

Were u my TA in this class???[Edited on January 6, 2016 at 3:30 PM. Reason : I believe I took this in 2008 which was 8 years ago]
1/6/2016 3:29:50 PM
^No, I graduated in 2007. I was a lab TA from 2003-2007.
1/7/2016 10:06:18 AM
kill it with fire! yes, i too, know fortran
1/25/2016 8:58:36 AM
I use fortran pretty frequently. and saying it's from the 50s is a little disingenuous. There have been some pretty major overhauls of the language since then, most notably in the 90s. Most of the things that make/made fortran terrible are terrible coding style choices that I hardly ever see anymore except for in really old code that hasn't been maintained.
