Havent played a good RPG in a while, anyone else looking forward to this one?
2/27/2006 6:00:40 PM
wasn't it an xbox 360 release title? I'd hope it had been compiled for x86 by now
2/27/2006 6:02:31 PM
it's not out on 360sometime in march i think
2/27/2006 6:15:25 PM
if it doesnt get pushed back
2/27/2006 6:16:53 PM
when is this shit going to come out. it was supposed to come out before christmas
2/27/2006 6:21:57 PM
march 20th is the most common estimate I've seen from gaming sites and stuff. nobody really knows, but there's been a HUGE ammount of previews appearing on all the gaming sites lately.
2/27/2006 6:23:46 PM
thanks for reminding me...time to whip out some morrowind
2/27/2006 6:40:09 PM
2/27/2006 7:03:20 PM
ahahahaha framerate
2/27/2006 7:56:13 PM
yup, suppose to be nice. My computer just meets the bare min hardware specs. Hopefully by summer I'll have enough funds to build a new one.
2/27/2006 9:08:39 PM
It was supposed to be launched late 2005 but they went ahead and pushed it back to late March simply because they felt they want the game to be they way they imagined and not rushed simply because of the holiday season. I can't wait...
2/27/2006 9:15:23 PM
they said they'd announce the release date within a week or two. im sure it'll be out soon and i cant wait.
2/27/2006 9:18:11 PM
bethesda always pulls this shit, they pushed the morrowind release date back months and months, and still released an ultra bugged game. on xbox, there werent any patches either, just a "goty edition"
2/28/2006 12:37:13 PM
Even with all its bugs, Morrowind was one of the best games in a few years..
2/28/2006 1:24:01 PM
^ true.
2/28/2006 1:24:56 PM
yay monday its coming out!
3/13/2006 6:35:04 PM
3/14/2006 12:54:01 AM
can't wait
3/14/2006 8:57:24 AM
Anyone got it yet?I'm reluctant to buy any Bethesda game at release considering their record of first-release bugs...
3/21/2006 4:33:23 PM
i'm looking forward to it...
3/21/2006 4:58:46 PM
Bought it this morning but haven't yet played it. I'll post first impressions when I have the chance.
3/21/2006 5:16:58 PM
my fucking DVD-Rom drive went out YESTERDAY!dammitI assume it requires it and not just CD-Rom, anyone know?
3/21/2006 5:18:27 PM
guards dont appreciate a sword to the side, my bad...all you humanoids look the same to me.
3/21/2006 5:23:50 PM
3/21/2006 5:35:42 PM
When I saw in the Entertainment thread that it was $40 at Circuit City, I went ahead out and got it. About to install now...
3/21/2006 5:38:15 PM
i got the collector's pc edition for $43.49 at best buy (price matched compusa at 44.99 - 10% of difference) + tax = $46
3/21/2006 5:49:33 PM
does it require the disk to play or just install? (ideas forming in my head)
3/21/2006 5:52:39 PM
requires disk unless you d/l a crack (which is out already)
3/21/2006 5:59:20 PM
haha i think I can wait a day or two for my replacement to come in
3/21/2006 6:02:24 PM
I'm about an hour or two into it, enjoying it so far. I wish it didn't have such generic character design, though.
3/21/2006 8:13:22 PM
the compusa website shows the collector's edition box for the "regular" price of $39.99...since searching their website does not reveal a pc version of the collector's edition, i'm going to go to best buy and hope i get some not-so-knowledgeable csr who will give me the collector's edition for $36 (price match)...i'll let y'all know if it works
3/21/2006 8:17:12 PM
Very nice...Haven't run into any bugs so far, luckily.
3/21/2006 8:56:59 PM
got the collector's edition (it comes with a coin, wtf) at best buy for $37.44 ($42.79 - $5 rewards coupon)...if you show them the compusa site (which shows the collector's edition box for $39.99), they'll give you that price...just fyi...oh, and i'm talking about pc, not xbox
3/21/2006 9:18:39 PM
bestbuy gave me hell about the price match. Kept saying that box picture wasn't the same because it was missing the PC/DVD even though on compusa one, that one pic was refering to 3 different Oblivion products.Anyone having lag issues with the game? I'm getting like 2fps. My PC meets recommended specs:3Ghz P41GB PC3200 DDR128MB 6800Audigy 2 ZS

3/21/2006 11:06:11 PM
heh, one friend is running with a geforce fx 5500 and I suggested the 6800 gs as the upgrade option for him. He's got a limit of 200 bucks, any better options to run this game?
3/21/2006 11:19:54 PM
I've heard that some of the ATI cards aren't having the same lag issues so it could be driver based. New set of drivers should be released tomorrow and a talk about an upcoming patch this weekend, but thats just rumors.also, I noticed when I disable the LOCAL svchost.exe that the game runs great at 1024x768 on medium settings, but I some how loose the sound drivers. Damn these stupid group serviced apps.[Edited on March 21, 2006 at 11:45 PM. Reason : ]

Hehe... if he's got $200Nvidia 7600GThttp://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?N=2010380048+4017&Submit=ENE&SubCategory=48
3/22/2006 7:12:03 AM
damn, didn't realize 7600GT's are that cheap. I need to get something better then my 6800, but I need to get out of the AGP realm.
3/22/2006 9:34:31 AM
runs relatively well on the 360. you get a little slowdown here or there especially when outside, but most of the time it is fine and wont affect your game.
3/22/2006 10:17:21 AM
I'm thinking its a software based problem. I've heard of video codecs causing lag issues. I've uninstalled all the codecs, but I bet they are still embedded somewhere in windows, and I've already cleaned the registry. I may have to do a last ditch effort and reformat a hard drive, clean install of XP, and see if the new drivers help the performance of Oblivion.

so the game is so bugged, it's unplayable. I can't play in full screen mode, so I have to play in a 1600x1200 window, and it crashes again when the camera zooms into the first level. I guess this will just have to sit on the back burner until I can get a patch.
3/22/2006 5:58:03 PM
hahahahahaha
3/22/2006 6:05:43 PM
omgz mine crashed during a loading screen on the xbox. i was appalled, though it was fine the rest of the 8hrs i've played.

I'm gonna try a clean install of xp, new nvidia drivers (new one came out today), and see if the game runs any better then 2fps at 640x480 res. I've heard of people with 7800GTX's only gettin 20fps, so they better get a patch for the game quick. Huge oversight.
