does anyone know of a place to sell wood? maybe some sort of wood worker's forum, or the like. craigslist isn't really gonna be an option, b/c folks on there who want wood usually want it to burn, or else for free for crafts.4/quarter 1" thick rough-cut white oak~100 feet in various lengths and widthsmy father was going to make kitchen cabinets with it, and then got sick...i dunno if that provides any more information about the quality of the wood.

You might want to ask someone in the NCSU craft center and Chris Jordan in the Design School shop. There's bound to be someone on campus that would want some of it.

Ehh, hit or miss. A lot of people just give it away. Kevin's parents put an add in the local paper.

rough-cut wood thickness is measured in quarters4/4, pronouced four quarters, is one inch thick5/4, pronouced five quarters, is 1.25" thick8/4, 2" thick... so on and so forth.now back to the topic. that is going to be some nice cabinets! there is a place down hillsborough st that sails hardwood, but i believe it is pretty pricey. you might get a good deal if you purchase enough board feet.[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 7:19 PM. Reason : WHOOPS. I as well thought you were trying to buy.]

print this information up and take it to the woodshop at the ncsu crafts center (across from reynolds parking deck/ behind clark), ask the attendent to post it. Include that it's white oak, that's it's 4/4 rough and the range of width's and lengths availabe, as well as price, and obviously contact info.. They're gonna have a lot better chance if they charge less than what it sells for.
