The QBs and WRs are on the NFL Network now from earlier. The big rumor was Vince Young scored a 6 on the wonderlick, but supposebly it was graded wrong.

I guess I failed it too
2/27/2006 12:03:18 AM
If 6 is true, isnt that worse than Frank Gore...and they were giving him HELL for that. Berlin from Miami did really terrible too, like 3 points better than Gore. both were right around 10 I thought.
2/27/2006 12:07:42 AM
profootballweekly.com has the scores from last year. Gore scored a 6 as well. From http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm:

wow
2/27/2006 12:19:56 AM
I'd like to hear how Charlie Whitehurst does. Kiper has him as the fifth best QB in the draft. So I guess anyone who can drop back, throw the ball straight up in the air, and hope his receiver comes down with it can play in the NFL.
2/27/2006 12:23:51 AM
He's in the next group of QBs, as is Marcus VickCutler has looked good. If he whipped it out, i think the NFL network guy would gladly fondle him for the rest of his life. Noone else has looked really impressive ouit of this group (top 1/2 or so of the alphabet)
2/27/2006 12:28:23 AM
to put a 6 into context, Sebastian Janakowski (sp) scored a 9, and we all know how bright he is. The thing with him is that his job is painfully simple, the job of quarterback in the NFL however is not so simple. From what I have heard, there is a distinct possibility that this could drop his draft status to barely top 10. Why have a dumb quarterback?
2/27/2006 12:53:26 AM

^Come on, man, if they can't do simple arithmetic, how the fuck do you expect them to work out percentages like that?
2/27/2006 7:28:19 AM
Didn't Ell Roberson (Kansas State QB when they had Darren Sproles) score like a 6?
2/27/2006 7:38:42 AM
i don't see how it is possible to get a zero on that test...[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 8:06 AM. Reason : .]

2/27/2006 12:00:06 PM
TEs and DEs are on the NFL network live right now
2/27/2006 12:10:09 PM
I miss not having NFL network... III&FH
2/27/2006 12:12:50 PM
Mario threw up 35 reps at 225, which is good for a DL25-30 is supposidly the avergage Manny was shown on the screen, but they did not show his rep count (could be bad news, or not)
2/27/2006 12:32:11 PM
Manny's 1st 40 time was 4.41.And I think they said McCargo's was 5.12 or 5.17..one of those...[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 1:31 PM. Reason : .]
2/27/2006 1:29:22 PM
^^ I still have no clue why they care how many reps an NFL DE can do at 225 pounds. How does that have ANYTHING to do with how hard you can throttle an OT for 1-2 seconds?Seems like gametape or interval sprints would be a better measure of stamina than a freaking bench press.
2/27/2006 1:35:25 PM
chris gamble scored a 9 i think when he took it
2/27/2006 1:36:29 PM
2/27/2006 1:38:10 PM
Mario just ran a 4.76....
2/27/2006 1:42:55 PM
i thought he was faster than that
2/27/2006 1:47:07 PM
because you often have to gain separation more than once while driving through an o lineman or a series of linemen[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 1:52 PM. Reason : d]
2/27/2006 1:48:19 PM
he has one more run left, so i wouldn't be surprised to see him cut off some time.Manny just ran a 4.45 with his second run(1st was 4.41)McCargo's second time was 5.20(1st was 5.12)[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 1:53 PM. Reason : .]
2/27/2006 1:49:11 PM
^^ yeah, but 35 times??Wouldnt it make more sense to see how many reps they can do at 300 lbs or even 350 lbs?225 just seems so low for guys that size...its like seeing how many times I can bench the bar.... i might get tired after 50 reps but that doesnt mean Im weaker than some 130 lb. cross country runner that can do it 100x...
2/27/2006 1:53:15 PM
joint stremph i guessand lineman arent really putting all their body weight on you like that, or else life for a d lineman would be easy[Edited on February 27, 2006 at 1:56 PM. Reason : v]
2/27/2006 1:55:57 PM
any idea what mario ran for his second 40 time??and i just read on an article from insiders that marcus vick ran a 4.41 40 in the combine but he was so unimpressive in his interviews that many of the teams have dropped him off of their draft board. he came off as cocky and arrogant according to the article and didn't really own up to any of the actions he was accused of in college
2/27/2006 2:11:35 PM
WolfMiami Where are you getting this info?
2/27/2006 2:20:05 PM
Marcus Vick DIDN"T run a 4.41....he ran a 4.55 and a 4.60No more VT delusional 40 times...Our DEs are faster than your fastest player...Stupid Hokies

2/27/2006 4:46:11 PM
i didn't just make up the 4.41; it was a 4.42 and i got it straight out of an espn.com insider article about the combinehere is the exact quote from the article:"The five other fastest include Virginia Tech's Marcus Vick (4.42), Missouri's Brad Smith (4.46), Georgia's D.J. Shockley (4.56), Texas State's Barrick Nealy (4.57) and Toledo's Bruce Gradkowski (4.59)."
2/27/2006 4:54:19 PM
NFL.COM reported " The fastest times turned in from this unit came from N.C. State's Lawson (4.45), James Wyche of Syracuse (4.60), Stanley McClover of Auburn (4.65), Mario Williams of N.C. State (4.66) and Wimbley (4.66)"....then "N.C. State defensive lineman Mario Williams was already high, but his stock went higher after his workouts."......"We had a tremendous time from N.C. State defensive lineman Manny Lawson, who ran a 4.44 and 4.45."http://nfl.com/draft/story/9271713
