The QBs and WRs are on the NFL Network now from earlier.

The big rumor was Vince Young scored a 6 on the wonderlick, but supposebly it was graded wrong.

If 6 is true, isnt that worse than Frank Gore...and they were giving him HELL for that.

Berlin from Miami did really terrible too, like 3 points better than Gore. both were right around 10 I thought.

profootballweekly.com has the scores from last year. Gore scored a 6 as well.

From http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm:
Quote :
"COMBINE OFFICIAL SCREWED UP VINCE'S WONDERLIC

A league source tells us that Texas quarterback Vince Young indeed scored a six on the Wonderlic test on Saturday -- but that the guy who graded the test screwed the thing up when determining how many were right, and how many weren't.

Combine officials, we're told, have re-scored the Young's test and the test of all other players who took it in his group. NFL teams will get the official Wonderlic results for all players later in the week.

On Saturday, there was widespread chatter at the combine that Young got only six out of 50 questions right on the standard test used by the NFL to gauge player intelligence. We caught wind of the score on Saturday afternoon. The Nashville Tennessean corroborated the reports of the low score in its Sunday edition.

Whether the actual number was 6 or 50 or something in between remains to be seen.

It's a major embarrassment, in our view, for the folks who put on the combine. Because it's inevitable that this information will get out (indeed, Pro Football Weekly got their mitts on the full Wonderlic results from the 2005 combine), it's critical that the folks charged with grading the tests get it right.

It's even more important that the scores are right before the information is leaked.

We have a feeling that this one could get interesting. Stay tuned.

Sample questions.

If people are seriously scoring <10 on this test, they're fucking retards.

I'd like to hear how Charlie Whitehurst does. Kiper has him as the fifth best QB in the draft. So I guess anyone who can drop back, throw the ball straight up in the air, and hope his receiver comes down with it can play in the NFL.

He's in the next group of QBs, as is Marcus Vick

Cutler has looked good. If he whipped it out, i think the NFL network guy would gladly fondle him for the rest of his life. Noone else has looked really impressive ouit of this group (top 1/2 or so of the alphabet)

to put a 6 into context, Sebastian Janakowski (sp) scored a 9, and we all know how bright he is. The thing with him is that his job is painfully simple, the job of quarterback in the NFL however is not so simple. From what I have heard, there is a distinct possibility that this could drop his draft status to barely top 10.

Why have a dumb quarterback?

Mario threw up 35 reps at 225, which is good for a DL

25-30 is supposidly the avergage

Manny was shown on the screen, but they did not show his rep count (could be bad news, or not)

Manny's 1st 40 time was 4.41.

And I think they said McCargo's was 5.12 or 5.17..one of those...

^^ I still have no clue why they care how many reps an NFL DE can do at 225 pounds.

How does that have ANYTHING to do with how hard you can throttle an OT for 1-2 seconds?

Seems like gametape or interval sprints would be a better measure of stamina than a freaking bench press.

because you often have to gain separation more than once while driving through an o lineman or a series of linemen

he has one more run left, so i wouldn't be surprised to see him cut off some time.

Manny just ran a 4.45 with his second run(1st was 4.41)

McCargo's second time was 5.20(1st was 5.12)

^^ yeah, but 35 times??

Wouldnt it make more sense to see how many reps they can do at 300 lbs or even 350 lbs?

225 just seems so low for guys that size...

its like seeing how many times I can bench the bar.... i might get tired after 50 reps but that doesnt mean Im weaker than some 130 lb. cross country runner that can do it 100x...

any idea what mario ran for his second 40 time??

and i just read on an article from insiders that marcus vick ran a 4.41 40 in the combine but he was so unimpressive in his interviews that many of the teams have dropped him off of their draft board. he came off as cocky and arrogant according to the article and didn't really own up to any of the actions he was accused of in college

i didn't just make up the 4.41; it was a 4.42 and i got it straight out of an espn.com insider article about the combine

here is the exact quote from the article:

"The five other fastest include Virginia Tech's Marcus Vick (4.42), Missouri's Brad Smith (4.46), Georgia's D.J. Shockley (4.56), Texas State's Barrick Nealy (4.57) and Toledo's Bruce Gradkowski (4.59)."

NFL.COM reported " The fastest times turned in from this unit came from N.C. State's Lawson (4.45), James Wyche of Syracuse (4.60), Stanley McClover of Auburn (4.65), Mario Williams of N.C. State (4.66) and Wimbley (4.66)"....then "N.C. State defensive lineman Mario Williams was already high, but his stock went higher after his workouts."......"We had a tremendous time from N.C. State defensive lineman Manny Lawson, who ran a 4.44 and 4.45."
