Yeah, but they have no damn part numbers. What pisses me off is that I sell all of this shit, and I actually had a bunch of the parts I need (cap, rotor, points, condenser, coil, wires, plugs) for this tractor, but they're probably in Smithfield. I was gonna leave work tonight and head up to Kittrell to our property where the tractor is and put the damn thing together. But alas, I can't find the fucking parts and I can only assume they are in the truck that I am keeping at a friend's place just outside of Smithfield. maybe I'll go ahead and drive down there. I can be back by 8:30.

I just went to NAPA today and got the points and plugs for the Pacer I just bought. There's a place based out of Darlington that has an ebay store with lots of that stuff. I think it's called TM tractor. You wouldn't be wanting to sell a Super A, 140, etc... would you? That Pacer is OK for a cheap tractor, but it's not a Farmall.

The only things I'm lacking are the wires and the points. I got cap and rotor and condenser and coil.This one's been converted to 12v and has a Delco alternator on it. It's my late uncle's tractor.On another note, I have a BRAND NEW Zenith carb to go back on it; they still make 'em. It did set me back 175 bux though. you should be able to get points anywhere, and wires too, though they may be cut-to-fit. there are little farmalls, massey fergusons, and fords around here everywhere so parts are real easy to get. should be the same way in Johnston Co.

Yep. And that's what sucks. I had a set of cut-to-fit wires that got lost in the shuffle when I had to move out when my wife and I separated. I'm tempted to call her and see if they are there, 'cause they ain't in any of my stuff.Tomorrow, I'll go and look 'em up and buy 'em myself from Clayton Auto Parts (Carquest store). We stock just about all the ignition stuff for the most popular old tractors because there are so damn many around. The big deal this weekend was that I'm not a keyholder anymore, and I needed the stuff when nobody else was around.Oh well. I did get a lot of stuff done today. Got a new 12v coil for it and put it on. Took the gas tank off and washed it out. Cleaned up this and that. Stuck a new battery in it and spun 'er over after loading the cylinders down with Deep Creep. Checked compression. Not bad for having sat up for five years. Put new cap and rotor on. I just need the points and wires now...and some fuel line and filter stuff...and she should be ready to hit.Oh, and you tractor folks oughta see this brand new Zenith carb I got for it. yeah, i know the feeling, i have an Oliver 1855 at home, finished painting it and put new tires on last year, fixed the pto and steering, and have the engine sitting in the shop with a $900 rebuild kit beside it, but the when i pulled the wet sleeves out, the block was pitted like a sum bitch where they need to seal, so i have a lot of work to do with some quick metal and a die grinder, plus i need a rebuilt injection pump, and the money kinda petered out in the middle of the project.

problem is, my oliver is too damn big to keep in the shop, so all that new paint is outside gettin oxidized with no tarp over it, took damn near $400 worth of industrial/ agricultural paint to do it. the rear wheels took 1 gallon for 2 coats. i sand blasted the entire tractor, and hit it with some of that phosphoric acid based converter sealer shit. not a bit of rust yet, even on some exposed metal. i got it from the state, they use it on snow equipment in the off season. costs about $100 a gallon.

I was in a hurry so I just bought a few quarts of cheap Rustoleum. It's doing fine so far, but this isn't really a show tractor so I wasn't too worried about it.

That is a right purty 8N. I do have a weakness fer the old Fords. There are two 660's sitting at my grandparents' house in Richmond right now. One of them is the first one I ever drove when I was 8 yrs old. The other one has hardly ever been used...it basically sat in the company garage for years and did snow duty...that was about it.

farmalls have delco distributors, but they are not the ones with the window that you adjust with an allen wrench. they are the other type with the eccentric screw to set the gap.

^What Wesley said. Some have Delco dizzy's, but I'm pretty sure this one is an IH. For the 100 you could either get an IH or a Prestolite...but to the best of my knowledge, no Delco.

now that you mention IH had their own distributors, you're right. Our Massey Ferguson 35 and the Pacer I just bought have Delco distributors. I've worked on all of them quite a lot, but it's been a while since I worked on an International distributor. Sometimes you forget which machine has which parts.

I think the IH were just IH stamped delco clones, or at least the ones I have seen are.

Might be, but all my Standard Ignition catalogs actually assign an IH number to them. Everything Delco (even if it's on something else) is assigned a Delco number.But in reality, we know that don't mean squat.
