OK use this to keep track of local car shows that you know of.

Theres nothing worse than having someone tell you about a carshow you never knew about. Even bad car shows can be fun.

Please, think of the children.

Saturday April 22, 2006
Raleigh , NC

The Third annual Custom Car and Bike Show will be Saturday, April the 22nd. This year we are moving the show a few blocks away, since over the past few years the show has grown out of the original lot. It is appreciated if you register before the show. This will allow us to better plan and organize the show. It also insures you a parking space! The show is open to makes and models from 1968 and earlier cars and trucks. Execpt Mustangs and Camaros...Sorry, but we see them everyday. If you think we should make an expection for you, drop us a line in the form below. Bikes may be newer, but no "crotch rockets" and please, we've all seen your fatboy "custom". Understand? ALL vehicles must be driven to the show, this is a 'Drive and Show' event. If you trailer your bike, fine, but don't be mad if we pick on ya for it! There will also be hand built kustom trophies for Best Hot Rod, Best Kustom, Busted Rod, People's choice, and Vendettas' Choice. We haven't come up we the bike awards yet, but there will be some. Admission is $8 and the show will go until about 4:30 and then the festivities will migrate a few blocks down the street to Aries Lounge. Admission is $10 to see the bands, unless you entered a car in the show. The bands are free for those who present their car show registration at the door. Bands scheduled this year include:
Rocket 350
Truck Stop Preachers
The Spooks
The Antagonizers

Location
This year we are doing things a little different. The car show will be held at during the day at City Limits and the bands will play at Aries Lounge later that night.
City Limits is located at:
901 Tryon Hill Dr
Raleigh, NC
27603"

"Hey guys, I recently recieved this email from the owner of HOOPs restaurant in Cary:

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Tim Bunce and I am the owner of
HOOPS, a new sports restaurant in Cary, NC.

The reason I am contacting your group is that we are organizing a Car &
Motorcycle Show/Display in order to raise money for a local Apex family and
their 4 year old son Erik. Since Erik and his twin brother Nick were born,
Erik has suffered from several neurological problems. Through everything
they have endured, they have placed their trust in God and I feel blessed to
have them come into my family's life! You can check out more information
for the family at http://www.erikmedlin.org

The Medlins are a family within our church and they have been burdened with
medical expenses beyond what any family should endure. On top of that, the
father was recently laid off from his job and their financial situation is
getting worse by the day.

HOOPS is organizing a Car & Motorcycle Show on Sunday, October 1st from 1pm
- 4pm to help raise funds for the Medlin family and we need your help!!!

Funds will be raised two ways:

1. Tickets will be sold to people within the community and items will be
raffled off. 100% of the funds raised from this will go directly to the
family. Most of the items being raffled off will be donated by HOOPS.

2. Food and Drink will be sold during this time and 10% of all sales will go
directly to the family.

With your help, we can draw folks from all parts of Cary, Raleigh and Apex
to come view your works of art and help raise money for their family in
need!

We will be taking votes for Best in Show Car, Best in Show Motorcycle and
Grand Prize Winner to help give back to the individuals all helping with
this event.

HOOPS is a family sports restaurant located in the Carpenter Village
Subdivision in North West Cary. To learn more about us you can go to
http://www.hoopsincary.com.

Please contact me directly and as soon as possible on how we can all help
this family in need.

God Bless,

Tim Bunce

i've gone to a couple of these ricer fests when i was in high school, and i used to know some of the people involved with them and the various car & truck clubs who frequent the shows. i'm really suprised this whole thing is going strong. they started like 10 years ago.

dropjawmag is all about titties and beer thats why they are still around. No one in the custom truck world likes them but alas, its pretty much all nc has.
