it'd just be a late identical twin... i've got enough twins w/ the 1 i already have.

now if i could grow body part replacements without any cognitive abilities I'd be all over some replacement parts for when i get older

i typed all this pre "tomloes" comments... i think what he described would be incest

what if you wanted a clone just for like an extra arm

would you kill the clone or feel bad doing it?

i'd take its arm, and let it live life with one arm

biologically speaking its no different than a twin, so yeah i'd feel bad.

but if you were able to grow a body without a brain/just a hollow head, or grow individual parts without the full body then I wouldn't feel bad for putting those to use.

^^ok well would you be opposed to people that said "thats my clone i could care less i just wanted the arm, go ahead and kill him"

would you feel guilty?

i mean, i wouldn't want to kill it because its another person, but i would have no problem with it living without said body part

i am its creator, and i should be able to do what i want to with it: harvest the arm and let it live a happy life

but i mean its your clone

i understand the its a person argument but its kinda not really a person

i mean it is but its only a clone, not really a "real" person

i guess the best idea is to let the person who is cloned decide

anyone capable of human thought, regardless of whether they come about naturally, in vitro, test tube, surrogacy, or whatever.

if cloning brings about normal human brains then they are ppl. if it brings about brainless body parts then they are not. if they can think on a human level then stealing their body parts would be bad imo.

People, you do understand that a "clone" is no different than an identical twin. I don't think there are many people out there that wouold kill their identical twin brother/sister simply for an arm.

i think it would be fun to clone oneself but copy the X-chromosone in place of the Y, so it would be an exact replica of you, just the other gender. Now, tell me, what would fucking THAT be classified as?

I've already got a twin.

Having a clone weould be alot less useful.

But its still chill to have a twin.

yes b/c i want my clone to make the decision for me about where i'm going to move. do all the searching, find the perfect house (right amt of sq ft, good location, right price) and then say "hey, other me...i found your dream house for you. now you and your cutie bf move in and live happily ever after."

that'd be GREAT

"no. there are enough people in the world already, and there are CERTAINLY enough of me"

It wouldn't be anything like you... he'd be a few decades younger and with completely different life experiences. Even if there was a way to instant age a body & transfer of memories then he'd still start experiencing things differently than you at the moment of the transfer.

for ppl who think biological similarity means it makes ppl good canidates for slaves, would it be okay to chop of limbs from an identical twin, or maybe only a few fingers from a little sister since she wouldn't be as smiliar as a twin(or clone)?

Although I actually don't think anyone who is pro-misusing clones anyways since this is such a light/non-serious discussion. Its not like the far right will ever let us advance science that far anyways.

i'd run a DNA diagnostic, fix the problems, clone, transplant brain and get rid of the other body.

I wouldn't clone myself because I'm a cruel and lazy motherfucker and another one of myself wouldn't do me much good. I would clone someone who is more subservient and hard working and then make them do work for me.

i've got a clone!

seriously its never going to be like it is in the movies where you have an 'instant' likeness of yourself. If it was just for the genetic tissue then sure, I can see doing that. But developing an entire being, no. Clones are just identical twins, they can develop slightly differently, have different personalities and characteristics.
