I've had eye exams, and they said I have 20/20. I'm not disputing this, but I was wondering about the reading glasses that you see at the pharmacy's. Is it healthy to your eyes to wear these just for reading? I have a lot more reading and computer work for work and classes than I have had before, and have noticed that I am strainging my eyes a lot. Someone suggested that I get some of the "over the counter glasses", but I don't want to screw up my vision. Anyone know anything about this, or have any suggestions?

I personally wouldn't wear glasses without a prescription. I had to wear reading glasses when I was in ninth grade. My vision was 20/20, but my eyes were overfocusing when I was looking at things up close, and it was giving me headaches.

youd be crazy to wear glasses. your eyes are straining because youre sitting in front of a screen all day. you might as well just get used to it. oh yeah and by the way, im jealous of your 20/20

it shouldn't be a problem using the 1.5x or 2x reading glasses (they won't hurt your vision). Something to help eye strain from computers and reading is to use eye drops (your rate of blinking slows when you do a lot of reading which causes your eyes to dry out). Add a drop in each eye once a hour and it should help.

getting a nice LCD will probably do more to ease your eye strain than any type of glasses will.
