I have to make a budget that is based on a real organization's budget but nobody makes their budget information available!I'm looking to do something in the recreation field such as a YMCA, some athletic facility, park, or whatever, as long as i can find a budget to serve as a guideline...So where am I to start looking for this information?

One would think that publicly run parks would have to make known their budgets/use of tax money somehow.

could you adapt an agency's year end financials from the state's CAFR?

^^ that would make a lot of sense, but they sure as hell don't make it easy to find if they do in fact make their budget available^ i don't think so, i need a budget for a full fiscal year

What about universities, elementary or high schools? They run gyms, athletics fields, weight rooms, recess areas. Maybe education money use is more public. Back when I was doing student council in high school they certainly didn't seem to hide much about their money usages. Between the schools finance secretary or just calling up the overseers at the county seat in Dobson, there seemed to be ways of getting financial info. Then again I can understand groups not wanting to broadcast personal salaries.[Edited on February 20, 2006 at 10:55 AM. ^^On the money. Records are usually pubically available, but how public and how in-depth is the question. Can also try talking to the instructors in PRT and seeing if they can't offer some suggestions.[Edited on February 20, 2006 at 12:06 PM. Reason : .]
