Ok, I have an IBM Thinkpad with Windows 2000 ProfessionalIt has a wireless card. I want to run XBconnect with my xbox. Info here: http://www.xbconnect.com/xbchelp/network/Should I just be able to plug a crossover cable from the XBOX into the ethernet slot in the back and be good to go? Why do I need a crossover and not just a standard?Could I still use a standard cable if I use a router and plug one standard cable from laptop to router and then another from router to xbox? Also not sure about this whole ICS setup if I need to do that...

if you are going router -> wireless -> pc -> wired -> xboxthen you need a crossover cable between your pc and xbox. You will also need to use internet connection sharing.its the same if you go router-> wired ->pc -> wired -> xbox.

buy a wireless adapter for xbox on ebay.or hook the ethernet from xbox to router w/ internet connection on it.or hook xbox directly to computer w/ crossover cable (it switches the rx and tx wires (recieve, send) so that both the computer and xbox don't send on same wire causing clashes, bla blah)otherwise you're in a fucking MESS.[Edited on February 22, 2006 at 4:00 PM.
