I was completely caught off guard about it and thought the deadline was next week. Should I call my professors tonight and get two recs or try to get an extension?

Maybee there is an upside to it

the Beckman is worth 19 grand, BUT, i would be forced to give up doing research on what I love and basically waste the rest of my undergrad eduation.
