i don't really know what a ny style steak and cheese is. but as far as places that have steak and cheese sandwiches around here...i really like philly's in north raleigh on atlantic and best steak and subs in crossroads. both use real cheese, not that cheese whiz crap(which is big up in philly)...although i think best steak and subs might have the whiz stuff available

The other day I had Papa Lou's for the first time... and I was damn impressed by their philly steak & cheese. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for... but it was good! They use real ribeye steak and lots of cheese. It was the best philly steak I've had in years. Paired with their fries... OMG delish.

There used to be another place in N.Raleigh, but I'm not sure if it's still open so I won't post it until I have a chance to check it out.

i dont know how it stacks up to the real deal, but its damn good, and cheap to boot.

Philly's up on Atlantic is good, though far from campus. I used to eat there a lot during my high school days.

i fucking hate it when people call it "steak & cheese." i hate it more when people call it "philly steak & cheese." And i want to kill people that call it "philadelphia style steak & cheese."

IT'S A FUCKING PHILLY CHEESESTEAK

Agree. They also have a place on New Bern Ave. next to the hospital (just off 440 at the 64/New Bern exit). The only place I've been to where you can get hot sauce ("vitamins" as they call it) put on the steak at the grill.

On a somewhat unrelated note, Ruckus' chicken philly is phenomenal.

If you go back and read the first post it makes no fucking sense.

I mean there are literally hundreds of places that sell them. Do you mean "good" cheesesteak or what? Or are you talking about pizza?
