I assume you have to be a current student... Or can alumni submit?Actually, if you want, I can help with some editing. I'm not trying to be mean at all, but your article herehttp://americana.ncsu.edu/hybrids.phpneeds some punctuation and grammatical help. Your content is great, and your points get across, but people don't take you seriously when your mistakes jump from the page.I swear, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just an unforgiving editor.[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 9:17 PM. Reason : m]

Thanks. I didn't edit it - I submitted it before I became the co-editor - but I'll proofread better next time. They may have assumed since I used to be Features co-editor that it was fine and just put it through.Oh, and I do believe you have to be a student/faculty member but I'll check. That's a good question, because then I could pull from my friends as well.[Edited on February 16, 2006 at 10:31 PM. Reason : ]

Okay great news - alumni can submit!^not usually, no, but I'm sure they would incorporate it if it's an artistic photo or something like a breast cancer awareness article or something [Edited on February 17, 2006 at 12:23 PM. Reason : ]

Can I write a big angry rant about Cassie Johnson, Chanda Gunn, and Angela Ruggiero, fill it up with semi-obscure cultural references, and pass it off as artful creative nonfiction in Americana?Hell, I could do it every two weeks. Pure, unadulterated, stream of conciousness bullshit from a wholly untalented individual. You'd get calls from outsider art aficionados daily.[Edited on February 18, 2006 at 3:40 AM. Reason : d]
